Go for LS2. It would be perfect in that budget. I bought mine for 2.4k. Its been more than a year & I am fully satisfied.

Kyt is a better brand than Vega is what I have come to understand and also in terms of padding i guess KYT is better. So the obvious choice should be KYT.

If you are thinking of getting KYT online, do understand that buying online is risky, if you would have searched a few pages back you could have found one member who had bad experience buying from online.
Since KYT is being dealt with by DSG, contact them and ask them if they can guarantee a safe courier of the product, if they guarantee then go ahead.

            Cheers

From what i heard, DSG themselves are one of the sellers in Amazon for helmet products. Not sure on this though, so don't take my word on that.
About fit and sizing, never do that, always take the size that is a snug fit. Having a loose fit is as good as not having a helmet at all.

Do search this thread a little more, you will find all the information you need.

                Cheers

Last evening, had been to Megha Enterprises, J.C. Road, Bangalore to purchase a helmet with the strong possibility of buying a new MT Blade to go with my new Duke 390.

They had the store named 'Moto...' something that was apparently part of the main store. The sales guy disappointed me by saying there was no stock of the said helmet, and so looked at the MT Geo-03 and MT Atom. What was on display were all of size L, the fit of which to me felt slightly loose, so asked for a M size. He said he didn't have one. After repeatedly insisting, he looked around dis-interestingly and handed MT Geo-4 that was there in size M to try. It fit fine so asked for the MT Geo-3 but in size M. He quickly took the test/sample piece, pulled out the inner padding of the two helmets and went about switching them. On enquiring, he said that the outer shell of all the helmets are the same, and its just the thickness of the inner padding that makes the difference. Again, insisted he give me a fresh piece, which he didn't have and tried to sell me what he had at hand. Also on asking about KYT brand of helmets, he quickly responded that they don't keep 'chinese maal' that doesn't have DOT certification in this store that houses items of brands with the likes of spartan, SOL, HJC, MT etc. Evidently, he was just keen on selling away a product rather than suggesting the right fit of helmet to choose from the budget.

Have been using an MPA full face helmet for nearly 15 years but with many quality branded helmets that have been vouched for here on this forum and others, here is my query with regards to buying a new helmet aka the 'lid' that I would need help in from more experienced riders out here.

                    1. Is it true that KYT helmets don't have DOT certification, and even if not, is the helmet reliable enough to go with (although MT Blade is appealing)?
                    2. About the helmet sizing that is mentioned behind (like S, M, L), is it the outer shell in itself or its the padding thickness within that makes the difference?
                    3. With long distance travel/touring in mind, would KYT RC Seven Provent Helmet: Black Orange suffice or is it better to go with MT variants on my budget around 5k?

Hey guys,I'm looking for a helmet for around 5K in Bangalore. And by research I find that the MT BLADE,AXXIS and REVENGE series are good,But I'm confused between those three now(If you know any other good ones, please do suggest) . Also are there any new entries for the same range in the market?? .

I remember seeing KYTs in Orion Motors , Opposite Forum Mall , Bangalore. They are listed as official re-sellers for DSG as well.

It's fulfilled by Amazon. So it's Amazon who does all the packing. The helmet carton had a lot of thermocol padding in it. Mine reached me safe. YMMV
