Re: Helmets
Well the helmet isnt a piece of Jewelry. The helmet took the scratches and scrapes instead of your head. What you are asking for is something like, "I got into an accident and my helmet got a crack in it, how do I prevent the helmet from such cracks?" Get my point? Re: Helmets
The problem is you never mentioned that. All you said was "You went on a TRIP, and you saw a load of marks". One reason for those scratches is that you must been riding in dusty regions, the dust particles will give those scratches if you are riding at high speeds. Another reason for the scratches and scrapes is that you are not careful enough with your helmet since you said you got those "while it was not on your head"Originally posted by rahlp View PostWell the helmet got scratches while it was not on my head.. got my point?
A possible solution is to clean the helmet and apply Wax.

Re: Helmets
Yea NFC doesnt come with it anymore. Any automotive wax will do. You can get Turtle wax on flipkart for cheap. Make sure you dont use a polish.Originally posted by rahlp View PostWhat wax should I use.. can you guide me?

Re: Helmets
Let me know when the dark visors arrive. Badly need one. I also own MT Axxis Limited EvoOriginally posted by Minisoda View PostHello biker buddies. I bought a MT/Spartan Kranos helmet a few months back.
So far I'm liking it a lot. It gets quite hot inside at low speed if you have the visor down, I keep the visor open while riding in the city and through slow traffic and the heat is reduced to a manageable extent.
The only issue I've faced so far is the visor seems to be too tight. I can't open it with one hand, I have to hold down the helmet with my right hand, and open the visor with my left. It makes opening the visor while moving very difficult and dangerous as it requires both hands to open.
Is this something I can resolve? Or is it a manufacturing defect?
I can't return or exchange the helmet since going to Mumbai just to do that is not possible for me.
If any of you guys have any pointers as to how I can loosen it a bit, It would be greatly appreciated.
Also the dark/smoke visors seem to be taking an eternity to arrive at moto101 to Rahul sir. If they are available elsewhere, please do post the details if possible.
Thanks a lot guys!
Cheers.

Re: Helmets
Bought a MT Blade from AH Helmets in Andheri. The guy there is quite nice & knows his stuff. I looked at HJC & SOL helmets too, found the HJC quite good but found them a bit pricy compared to MT. Sol I was not very impressed. LS2 I simply avoided.
I got a Matte-Red combo which isn't very loud and very understated.
What I loved about the helmet is that it's quite well made, the liners & the construction looks to be pretty sturdy. The fitting is very tight which is a good thing. Even with a lot of force it doesn't rotate within the head. The visor is a good addition but I rather like to wear my own glasses but sadly this tight fitting wont allow me that luxury.
Though I'm a bit disappointed with one thing, basically I expected this helmet to be vastly quite over my half face. While it is vastly quite than my openface it's not as much as I expected. Beyond 60kmph you start to hear the wind and at 90 it's quite audible. But to be honest I was probably expecting too much, it is in every way much much more quiter than my open face.
Overall I'm also happy that riding visibility isn't compromised with this full face, atleast that is what I was mostly worried about which the helmet resolves greatly. I'm very happy. For the price it comes at it's honestly a no-brainer.

Re: Helmets
Please can someone suggest a helmet? I have a budget of 10k. Was looking at CR1 but then, I am not at all very comfortable with Indian LS2's reliability. I had my current LS2 brought in from Illinois, whose shell is the fattest I have seen so far.
You can see the pics of my helmet on my blog
Please suggest me a good helmet with pocket friendly visor & pads costs. I tend to change my visor bimonthly.....Riding the Indian Monster : 200NS....

.
Me too got the same helmet from AH Helmets. The quality of the helmet is pretty good. This one doesn't come with the NFC tag, Which was anyways useless. I got the Matt Black/White.
