I looked for gloves and the tank pad initally. none had them in hyd. Shusheel had only the tank pads and said they could get me the gloves. tank pad for 200rs and gloves for 550rs (did'nt make sense....no protection too....dsg was available for 750)Originally posted by HydBiker View PostNot just the Carbon one... nothing is priced below 12K. Heavily overpriced for the Indian Marker... there goes many people's hopes of getting a good helmet at a decent price...! hmmm. actually, I was thinking that the Daiyja's too were priced high!
@Satish, yes I saw the tank pads too but never saw any tank bag. Also, now a days we don't have any such Apache branded items in any showroom in Hyd unless someone is left out with initial stock. The helmets were quoted at Rs 1100 those days. But were good.
Tank bags cost was just 350-450 rs.....we can use it as a normal bag too.....i seriously wanted it

Thank you Sirji, for the gyaan.Though I bought it from my cousin's shop, had never heard of this brand, so was a little hesitant. But when I tried this on & a few of the AGV's, I felt this was better fitting, & light too. But I have noticed one thing after using it for a few days is that it sweats a lot, my bandana gets totally wet after wearing this helmet for sometime. Pics will follow soon.Originally posted by satyenpoojary View PostCross, Fasttrack etc etc are the same manufacturers bike... I guess they are cheap chinese replicas....
Dont get offended\paranoid with the use of the word chinese though...!
I have one fasttrack helmet, and 2 Cross helmets... i can vouch for them any day...
They are much better than the MPA-AGV series! I would give them a 6/10 and Dajiya a 5.8/10!!!!!

Hmm If you try and keep the lid away from sharp objects I don't see why any peeling should occur. I have used my Boolean pretty roughly. Apart from a few small scratches(which reveals a grey base color) I don't have any area of the Red-rubber coat peeling. But yes, they do attract a dark tinge all over the surface. I tried using a pencil eraser on the dark areas. It worked. But the discoloration comes back soon enough. So I stopped doing it. As more eraser-friction would reduce the thickness of the coat, according to me.
As for the side panels, how do you remove them? Is it easy to do so and replace the visor?10 Commandments:

I always kept my Boolean away from sharp objects&even avoided it banging/rubbing against anything. It seems to be a manufacturing defect. There is no peeling off anywhere else though. I'm planning to get it painted glossy black as I like the overall fit&visor quality&moreover there is no exchange for helmets. I will also be getting it custom stickered.Originally posted by 46wannabe View PostHmm If you try and keep the lid away from sharp objects I don't see why any peeling should occur. As for dismantling, all the instructions are written in the manual&they are pretty easy to do. I have dismantled the entire helmet once or twice. It was pretty easy. You just need to put a screwdriver behind the side panel and push outwards. It comes off pretty easily&fits back on easily too. Just remember to slide in the grooves below&then all you need to do is push gently!Quench my thirst with gasoline!

You can have my Boolean if you want! Just change the side panel&it'll be brand new!Originally posted by adises View PostWhats a good cheap helmet with a removable inside cover which can be washed? I sweat a lot and the helmet tends to smell and then the scalp also gets itchy
I'm not looking for something expensive (2.5k +) just one with a removable inside cover.
Edit: Jokes apart, I suggest you wear a balaclava or skull cap. It helps.
As for the lid, I think the new range of Studds has removable&washable interiors.Last edited by Sarvajit; 03-09-2009, 05:02 PM.Quench my thirst with gasoline!
