Regarding the Vega, yes, I feel a 1K difference is too much so I'm getting the solid color. Looks like RaviKiran got it for less from Balaji Helmets at Bangalore. I tried telling Biking Terminal Pratap that, but he was confident that Balaji overprices&then pretends to discount!
How much did you spend on the Daijya btw? I saw a few still lying at Pearl. I think DSG doesn't stock them anymore-they seem to have got Marushin helmets for a mind blowing price!
I feel the best option is SparX from Performance Racing Store for about 6K. Wrote to the Manager. Will think of it in case I go for a 250!
OT: Nenu kotta office lo paata pani chestunnaanu-xBhp rocks as always!
Hmmm......afaik....marushin are original and daijya's are errrr.....
.
Nope i dont plan to sell it......there is only certain thing i completly hate in daijya....but have heard a lot abt it's shell.........i got it for 3.5k i would hve banged my head into a wall had i bought it for 5.5k+ from pearl
hmmm........if at all i have buy a helmet in near future...i'll def buy a KBC or a sparx

Where do you get BHP helmets in Hyderabad&for what price range? I saw a guy wearing one last evening, which was looking pretty good-had the extra stuff near the vents just like KBC. I wanted to ask him about it, but he had his girl sitting behind him, so I changed my mind.Originally posted by HydBiker View Post^^^ you are growing wiser Satish...
Anyone using BHP helmets? How is the overall feel?Quench my thirst with gasoline!

Your Vega is the same at half the price. Some art and extra on the top vent lining (that is a problem at high speeds) are different.Originally posted by R15Rocks View PostWhere do you get BHP helmets in Hyderabad&for what price range? Ravi, Sumit & Kriss have those BHP's.

Product safety level ratings are available from UK govt who are the only ones to provide grades for safety provided by helmets. You can also check ratings of other manufacturers here:
SHARP - The Helmet Safety Scheme
Hi there...
Thanks for the information. May I post these links in the Helmets thread?
BTW, yes, agreed that the Marushin are good. But we were told that the Daijya's are the same as Marushin with a name change... now either that information that made us buy the Daijyas is wrong or the new pricing for Marushins is wrong.
We defanitely did not expect so much of a price difference between the Daijyas & Marushins.
Please clarify.
Thanks & Regards
HydBiker
You can quote the above links in the thread.
Marushin is a Japanese firm in business since 1958 and one of the pioneers in fibreglass technology for helmets. They have recently been bought over by JF Motorsports, Germany which is a large parts distributor in Europe.
JF has taken the development of Marushin helmets to a different level altogether with using composite Stonefibre, Hydrofibre and even aviation grade Carbon fibre for producing their helmet shells. This makes the product not just meet the prescribed safety standards worldwide but exceed them tremendously and provide safety to bikers.
Previously, Marushin used to make fibreglass helmets which met all safety standards. 2009 range exceeds them by a large factor and are extremely lightweight, lighter than other famous intl brands.Last edited by HydBiker; 03-13-2009, 03:09 PM.

Nice to hear that the Marushins are far better quality than any other international brand helmets.Originally posted by HydBiker View PostGuys, some info from PlanetDSG:

But there is no answer to your question that why is there a big cost difference between Daijyas and Marushins. As far as I can understand from that post is that Marushins are far better in quality than Daijyas.......
so that means Daijyas are bad in quality? Or not..... could you PM them again and clarify these points.
OR
Is it that bcoz of JF Motors of UK taking over Marushins.... they are now costlier coz they are better in quality?Last edited by chetanpulsar; 03-13-2009, 03:26 PM.Chetan

Far better quality = Far better priceOriginally posted by chetanpulsar View PostNice to hear that the Marushins are far better quality than any other international brand helmets.
Equation simple hai yaar!
Btw, definitely the Daijya's must be of a comparatively inferior quality and thus the price differential!_________________________

^^^ guys, that far inferior quality of Daijya's over the Marushin's seem to be of similar quality as the other helmets we have available in that range. Pls read again, they said Marushins were made with Fibreglass and so would be the Daijyas.
It is only now with the new 2009 range the Marushins are made with higher grade material and that reflects in price. If what they said is entirely true then that settles it. The Daijyas were not inferior but the 200 Marushins are far superior.

Verdict on Vega Eclipse
I borrowed a friend's Vega Eclipse, the sibling of the coveted Boolean model and was shocked to find the superficial inner padding in the lid
. I could have punched a guy wearing it and broken his jaw, so thin was the padding
. Paintjob was decent, but the overall finish was real ugly, as the fiber part near the ears was sticking away from the helmet body and moved in-and-out at the slightest touch. Even the locking mechanism was flimsy and weak. And to think I was gonna buy the Boolean
!! Much better off with my Daijya any given day, be it fake or real
.
PS: The only good stuff that I found useful in the lid was the double-visor, as I had eye infection today and needed that to face the sun.

I know what you mean.... the low end Vega helmets (high end being 2.5k+) have extremely low quality parts... and the padding liner is so bad... you just cant feel its there.Originally posted by diffuser911 View PostI borrowed a friend's Vega Eclipse, the sibling of the coveted Boolean model and was shocked to find the superficial inner padding in the lid

The last time I had a crash (with my Daijya on), I flipped over a big stone and my right side jaw area directly hit the road-side milestone at around 45kmph. The helmet took the full blow.... and did not let even 5% of the impact onto my face (jaw bone). Neither did the helmet crack nor did my jaw
. Lucky I was wearing a good helmet (be it real or fake
)
