Picked up this Airoh lid yesterday from Open Roads here in Pune for Rs. 11500/-. The helmet is ACU Gold certified and has super comfortable lining. It is pin lock ready. I am now waiting for the tinted visor which hopefully should be procured soon. Importantly to me, the helmet has padding inside where most manufacturers nowadays keep these deep recesses for speakers which actually contribute to wind noise above speeds of 130 kmph.

akshay nice helmet brother and you are right about the wind noise.
And thanks man you gave me the idea to reduce wind noise in my SMK .

• Fitment of a new helmet. Should I opt for a smaller size?

Hi folks,
I presently own a MT blade helmet which has served me well, But want to upgrade to a better helmet with higher safety rating. With personal preference in mind and the fact that no decent noise reduction is available in helmets unless I spend big bucks for likes of SHOEI and Schuberth I have finalized on the scorpion EXO-R710 helmet.

This helmet is SNELL 2015 rated and is made of fiberglass + aramid mixtures.. sounds nice but I have a question regarding the fitment.

My head size is 59.5CM or 23'1/4 Inches, Now this lies in the 'large' range of size for scorpion helmets but is just at the initial threshold.

To put it in simpler way, Medium size shell can accommodate up to 58cm head size and large begins at 59cm. My head size is 59.5cm.

should I opt for a Medium size to get a snugger fit for safety or should I go for the size as mentioned in the size chart? safety being the important factor here.

and If you guys have any suggestions for other fiberglass helmets with your experience, That is welcome too.

Consider headshapes too..some helmet brands are best suited for long oval headshape, some for intermediate oval, some round.check revzilla reviews for the specific headshape for a particular brand.for a wrong headshape, even though the right sized helmet can cause uncomfortable pressure points which may not fade away.buying helmet online better be kept as a last reserve, especially if buying internationally since returns can be a hassle.i have a head size 56.5.falls between S and M for HJC helmets.i chose M after trying out(didn't get to check S though.M was already a snug fit)helmet model was CL-17.was uncomfortable for few days, but it subsceded.

If this happened due to a crash or fall, I'd suggest replacing the helmet as advised by most experts.

If not, you should try some decal, stickering options to cover that up.
