Re: Helmets
Hello guys. Need to buy my first helmet. Ordered LS2 online. L was quite small. I would say super small. Didn't got a brand i was looking for at local shops. But tried studds xl size. It was also fit. I know it should fit me proper. But i literally needed to push it on my face. I believe I might need xxl. Which I can't find anywhere. By the way my head measured at around 61 cms. It might be quite big. Please help finding a helmet guys. Online is better.....
Budget is somewhere around 5k. And for temporary basis need 1 immediately. Which any decent brand would do. Please suggest.
Thank youLast edited by faysal_khan; 08-05-2018, 12:28 AM.

Yes this is the one, but don't buy online.Originally posted by Saksham Verenkar View PostThanks, you know any particular shop in karol bagh where i can get.

Chopra , veekay both on naiwala main road going towards bikaner chowk from Hanuman murti the shops would be on the right hand side, or there are few shops at Jhandewalan metro station they also have studds. I don't recommend steelbird they have good graphics but the padding is crap.
There are other shops near chopra too, but chopra has biggest range and veekay too.
You can also try motorclub at west patel nagar, try motorclub.in on fb.

Re: Helmets
As per a new government directive, anyone found selling or manufacturing non-ISI branded helmets will being arrested without the need of a warrant. First-time offenders breaking this new rule will face jail time of up to 2 years and/ or a fine of Rs. 2 lakhs. Subsequent offences will attract higher fines.
So MORTH made manufacturing and SALE of Non-ISI helmets an offence. So this could be death knell for imported ECE and SNELL helmets in India. Im sure this will be excuse for Police to renew their crackdown on bikers also with imported helmets.
And BIS guys in their infinite wisdom, has specified the max permissible weight of a helmet as 1.5kg. So it doesnt matter if is is Half or full face, S,M,L, or XL size, the weight of helmet should be less than 1.2 kg?
So finally I have to forego my ECE helmet and get a BIS helmet with questionable safety. Great.

Re: Helmets
Why is the govt. Not supporting foreign ratings. Not everyone like steelbird or Vega helmet. Simply forcing the rider to only wear a ISI marked helmet is not the solution but a precaution. Then if any rider Mets with an accident and wearing a ARAI or SHOEI helmet then the insurance Co. will refuse them due to this govt policy. Do t we deserve to wear more advanced and R&D helmet and instead go for home grown companies. Steelbird is taking direct benefit of this policy. Rajeev Kapur could have supported atleast the good brands of helmet if not all who are way better than his own company.Originally posted by deejayrox View Posthttps://www.cartoq.com/jail-for-thos...crash-helmets/

What will these big stores do who sell imported helmets, they will certainly have a big punch on their face. Huge financial losses as govt will also charge penalty or jail.
Another thing, reducing the maximum permissible weight of a helmet to 1.2Kg. Do we have such good lite material available which has the same strength as on any other high strength material used in helmet. Will it be able to absorb same as the 1.5kg helmet. Big doubt as of now.
Govt is trying to force us(the user of non-isi helmets) to support the business of Indian manufacturers. Traffic police will take advantage of this and find a new route for their new source of income. Its not the Bike that makes a Biker perfect, its a Biker who makes his Bike perfect :)

1.2 kg could only be achieved with use of carbon fibre or any other non existent material [emoji23]Originally posted by alliwanted View PostWhy is the govt. Not supporting foreign ratings. Over that steelbird and studds do not offer all sizes like my head size is small and sb is like ultra lose on my head studds is better due to good padding.Originally posted by alliwanted View PostWhy is the govt.
