  • I have an old MPA AGV helmet which was the first release of this helmet. Only last year i changed the lining after a lot of searching and now i want to change the graphics of the helmet.

Is there any place in Bangalore where they change the agv graphics and put that thin protective coat over the new ones? I am getting rather tired of the old graphic (blue base with 2 eyes over the visor).

Regular stickers wouldn't last long-I tried them on my old Vega Boolean. However, the sticker shop guys use radium, which is pretty good for both glossy as well as matt finish.

        • AGV Helmet, washable?

          Guys a help.

When I bought myself an AGV helmet, the ones with the MPA tag at the back of the helmet, I was told that the insides are washable!
Has anyone done it?..I mean I cant figure out how to peel away the top part, I mean the part which rests on the head!
          Any Ideas guys?

            • ^^AFAIK, the upper-cranium-surface seems to be glued on, im not too sure. but mine became loose after i removed it for washing. Then again my AGV is very old now. Almost 3 yrs. But am sure many owners here will chip in with their advice.

              • I am not sure if this Q has come up before, sorry but don have the patience to flip through 200 odd pages so, Can somene tell me if helmets can be painted, I am building a dirt bike and was wondering if I could match the paint scheme of my fuel tank with the helmet (yellow and white with black blocks like the Kenny roberts yamaha GP bikes). One of my friends said it is not advisable and would like to kno why, if it isn't. Also can you guys suggest a good looking and safe dirt bike helmet available here in India..
lookin for another corny line ??

The upper cranuim or the top yolk in indeed glued on the helmet shell and is not removable. Dont even try it, I tried and it came off from around the top of the winshield
Only the side panels thru wich the chin straps go through are removable !!

But you can use alcohol or some dry cleaning agent like Carbon Tetrachloride to clean it !!
I have personally never tried it, so pls ask around before you try that ! It might damage the thermocol lining !!
I'll probably look arnd the web and pass anything that I get !!

Vega has launched a new Motocross lid. Good graphics and colors. You could even go for the imported Vemar range if you manage to find them.

Studds too makes dirt bike helmets. But i personally hate the 'STUDDS' logo.
                    Good luck buddy.

                      • need a new lid

                        hi guys ,
i have been following this thread for sometime now and have actually gone through the whole thing . I currently have a Vega Corah lid that is from their entry level range , the thing is the visor clamp on it broke and I'm trying to use this as an excuse to get myself a new one ... I have a budget of about 3 to 3.5 k . I stay in bangalore and have been reading the comments about balaji helmets and megha enterprises , so just wondering if these are the best places to go to even though you might get a raw deal or is there some place else ... I also saw an exclusive vega showroom on JC road and wondering if any of the bangalore guys have got lids from there and could advice on the range they have ...so would like you guys top share your views on which could be a good helmet for me ...

For your budget the best option would be a Cross helmet or else Mpa AGV...i would recommend you to go in for a Cross
