why are the moto cross style helmets not good for highways?is it because of that cap or the built quality?Smoke rubber,not tobacco.

They are simply not built for highway speeds.....
Even if you remove the cap, they do create problems in heavy crosswinds...

I use the Vega Off roader
Very good helmet for city use
Gives a "Devilish" look on my 220 and very much airy as well (7 vents overall)
On highways, it creates heavenly problems with the cap on..
But once you remove the cap, helmet behaves pretty decent-ly.....!2002 - Pulsar 150 Classic (Still owned)

I'm in need of a decent helmet. I'm not a very demanding guy, my priorities are :
1. Should protect my head (
)
2. Should cut as much wind noise, whistling sound as possible at high speeds - say 80kmph (VERY important) - I currently have a Studds Golf ECO, and after around 60kmph, the wind is WAY too loud to ride.
3. Good looks (optional)
My budget is ~ Rs.1500
I'm currently interested in Studds Rhyno and Ninja. I need to know whether they block wind noise and whistling properly at speed 70-80kmph.
EDIT: oh yeah, a nice anti-glare visor would be welcome as well.Last edited by Sava; 10-05-2009, 11:28 PM.
