if you get them to dump the original packaging and remove the protective sticker from the visor, your friend can claim its their helmet, so no duties.Originally posted by ashes View Posthey guys got a query...if i ask someone to bring a helmet with them from like some other country in their own luggage...do i still have to pay duties??

Nope. Have done that a few times - I actually put it in the original packing and packed it in a soft bag... And you are always say that the Helmet cost only Rs.2000 or so. No one at customs has a list of helmet prices...Originally posted by ashes View Posthey guys got a query...if i ask someone to bring a helmet with them from like some other country in their own luggage...do i still have to pay duties??

That is Pioneer helmets. It comes after the junction to greams road.. (actually somewhere after the Didar Honda showroom). The guy reduces prices if you know how to hard-bargain. . I bought my Vega Thailand Imported (ECE cert) helmet here... forgot the actual price, but it was more than 2.5K,Originally posted by Thunder View PostCheck out the Helmet stores in front of Thousand Lights or GP Road.....

Actually there are 4-5 shops side-by-side in front of Thousand lights.
There is another shop named "Helmet paradise" on annasalai.
I also know another shop on GP road,Think its called "Hardeep auto" or something similar.
If you do go to one of these places, please make sure you get a spare "plain" visor along with the flashy one, which comes along most "premium" helmets nowadays...
Good luck with the helmet hunting. Do post some pictures on your acquisition when bought.

Saw the Branded Helmet wala ad by SteelBird on the TV a few times...
Better still, they show a GPOne helmet in the picture.
Every helmet dealer I spoke to in Hyderabad said SteelBird closed shop and that they haven't seen them supplying stock in over two years. Are they back?
