Looking for Retro style helmets
Well I am thinking of buying a new Classic / retro style helmet to go with Bullet Classic.
I am still trying to figure out the available choices / designs and places to buy them in Mumbai. I do have really old Chopper Pilot's helmet which I thought I will remod for biking if nothing works :P
Please suggest some designs / models and if possible shops in Mumbai where I can get them.Siddharth Menon Twitter sigpic

This is something different .... I like the helmet without jaw line protection and this give you the options to retract the same. I want my face to be visible to all B-). Could you guys comment on the above design, some recommendation.Originally posted by ron_7933 View PostCame into the thread to tell you fellow Xbhpians about my new Vega Boolean... For 1680 bucks it seemed a bit expensive to me.. but then saw the agv helmet which costed bioblade 6900 bucks.. i guess mine is very cheap!
here are a few pics of my helmet

Incidentally crumple zones are supposed to work around the same speed as you mentioned. The testing of the zones happens in three stages. The minimum speed at which they must crumple is 30 kmph. In most accidents the speed at which the car is travelling (on braking) is approximately the same. (BTW this is Off topic...I will try doing a small article on this later)Originally posted by coolboy007 View PostBro, why should it break on a impact when a rider at 40kph falls on a road, crumple zones in cars work because they save the passengers, crumple zones shouldnt work even when you hit a rickshaw at 30 kph.
The helmet broke off and in turn it hurt my sister's face which was badly bruised. I mean, till a particular limit the lid should stay intact, what if the head hits a divider after the lid breaks off.
The breaking of the helmet can be attributed to various reasons. Was the helmet abused earlier (like dropped a couple of times, banged against when parked etc).
Most of us do not really take care of the helmet as we should. One common thing I have seen is people lock the helmet on the helmet lock in such a way that it protrudes outwards, where it can get easily banged upon by other bikes etc. Best is to lock the helmet and place it on the seat (if lock is on the grabrail) or if it is on the crash guard then move it as close to the bike as possible.
In the end, a lot depends upon what we call Luck....however, dont tempt fate, be careful.Riding the BULL....(with out the LET)...

After a bit of research I think I will settle for Open Face Helmet type. Now I have to look for design and place to source it from.Siddharth Menon Twitter sigpic

I think the only available options are amba automobiles and some local shops in thakaraparambu road(but IMO there wont be much "GOOD" lids around there..Originally posted by Nixster View PostHey guys...Does anyone know where we can get good quality helmets in trivandrum?
if you have a budget of 3k you can contact suraj or throttle from GRz to get some nice agv or cross lid

AGV Fit issues????
Hi I bought a AGV @Bangalore JC Road ,Ryder city shop for 2.2k .L size.
If i go beyond 60kmph little noise is there. And there is a gap from my chin to the helmet, Though the side pads are touching my cheeks(but not tight).
Is this a problem of chosing the wrong size. If yes what can be the possbile solution??Kovai Thumpers Motorcycle Club- Coimbatore
