Just need some advice.... I have been riding past 7 months and have covered about 5k ....Not much, I know...I didnt buy any expensive gears as I wanted to get used to the riding gears. Currently I use BBG Xplorer Jacket ( 6K), BBG Rider Gloves ( 1.8K), Caferacer Riding jeans (2.7K with doubtful CE knee pads), Woodlands Shoes ( 3k and solid one) and MT Revenge helmet.

I am planning to a complete Alpinestar upgrade month by month. Shoes - Faster Shoes 2 ( dont like racing boots with sliders), Gloves - SMX-1 ( or 2), Jacket - Choices are T-Faster Air ( 14 k, most affordable and can get a 1k discount), Bonneville or Alux Waterproof ( slightly more expensive 16k and 17.5K) and Pants - Wings Air pants ( 13 k , my choice) or AST-1 waterproof ( 12.5k) / Ramjet Air ( 17k , too expensive).

Now the question is if I start one a month the whole investment will be close to 50 k .....will it be worth it? or should I look at some other brand?

I am not a speed demon, usually a very safe rider as my wife joins most of the time ( she has the same BBG sets I currently have with a HJC helmet). I hardly ever cross 100km/hr. The top speed I ever touched is 155 that too for a few mts.

But I am doing longer distance now. This saturday we are attending a campmonk gettogether which is 8 hrs ride one way.
Boss you should definitely not mind spending 50k on your gears. I just completed my set by getting the Aspida eclipse boot not the best choice for my type of riding but for the time being I'm being more on the road and less on Rocky terrains. My set is probably close to 45k and I could get a 2nd impulse for that price [emoji16] you should try out different brands like Scott, Revit, Rst as well. Regarding boot get smx 6 if investing in A* or you have options in forma to go for a touring or adventure boot. Main thing to remember is when your bike falls your legs get pinned so if it has enough ankle protection (Hard) then the hospital bills should be less.
May the sun rise infront of me,
the rain fall behind me and the wind follow me.
May the angels guard my travels for they know what's ahead of me.
Keep me safe through rolling hills, swirling turns and bad roads.
Let the moon's light guide me through the night.
Lord, thank you for letting me a Biker.
        Amen.

Ride:- Hero Honda Impulse (present) , Tvs Apache RTR180(2015-17)
Gears:- Shiro SH336 Carbon Helmet || Aspida Helios Jacket || Rynox Advento Pants || TBG Sport Gloves

Well it also depends if someone got a multi lac bike, he'd be willing to spend a fraction of the price on gear.

45k gear for impulse [emoji15] wow. Could you suggest me some low budget gear - gloves and boots, I recently got P220.

            Not necessarily [emoji16]
Hehe yeah I have had too many accidents on my cycling career, I rather choose to be suited while motorcycling as there is a provision for it unlike cycling.

Jacket you can opt for mototorque, rr gear, dsg, Aspida(Helios is what i have), scala and rynox.
Gloves full gauntlet from aspida, rynox, bbg and tbg(sport this is what I use)
Boots for the time being you can get combat boots or if you have decent budget then aspida, bbg, forma are Options.

Take your time, try out different gears, understand the weather you'll be riding in, which one to choose is depending on your budget and safety you want to compare with your type of riding.

I would second him. I myself spend double the price of my motorcycle on gears itself. (approx)

Low budget gears - Jacket - check Solace, Raida, Rynox. These brands are well known and have branded protectors if you are willing to spend. Else check RideOn for branded protectors in lesser price. (other brands do not have branded protectors and are mostly chasing not genuine CE level 2 - I doubt they are even CE level 1)

Do not check MotoTork (not writing exact name), the brand doesn't even know about CE standards, can't expect them to make a half decent jacket.

              Gloves - Same brands.

Boots - Aspida and Solace are good in budget, but to also check Exustar if you can extend your budget.

              Hope it helps !

A friend is using these and it looks fine. But always remember the more you pay the better you get.

I have been using this jacket since last 6 months regularly and am very happy with it. The big mesh areas make it very practical for daily city use in our hot and humid climates. I wear it daily on my 23Km each way office commute.
It offers superb value for money! The 2 useful liners - rain and thermal - make it an even more practical choice.
In my research before the purchase I didn't find any other jacket from any other brand offering CE L2 armours at this price point.

I also got the matching Rynox Airtex Riding Pants too, that can be attached to this jacket with built in zips.

TLDR: Excellent VFM light jacket for daily use. May not be suitable for very heavy touring.

I'd suggest buying your gear in this sequence. Gloves and helmet first, then jacket, then pants and then boots.
Also spend money on the gear according to your riding style. Commuters have less accidents than Tourers, Tourers have less accidents then Track guys. No point buying a leather racing suit if you don't go above 80kmph.
Spend the most on gloves, those with helmet make the most important part of your motorcycle gear. A crash at even 20kmph can **** your hands up, look for palm protection. Don't spend too much on jackets either if you are not a tourer.
Also, how many falls/accidents you've had in past 10 years, keep that number in mind and then spend on gear.

Hi, I'm looking for a riding jacket in the price range of 6K-7K. I'm not a hardcore tourer(mostly short weekend rides - 5-6 times in a year). I live in Kolkata - hot and humid. Requirements are - level 2 protection, durable, well ventilated, rain/winter liners and should not look sore to the eye. I've zeroed in on the following after doing my part of research and going through the last few pages of this thread. I know some of these do not meet all my requirements but then I should not ask for all the features at such a price point.

                      1. Mototech Scrambler/Contour(I do not have much idea about Mototech products apart from the fact that they are VFM). Liked the Trailblazer too but beyond my budget.
                      2. Zeus All Terrain(offers many things together - not sure about whether the quality is good)
                      3. Aspida Nemesis 2(specs are good)
                      4. Rynox Tornado Pro L2(slightly beyond my budget)

Apart from these, I had shortlisted Alpinestars AST Air, RYNOX STEALTH EVO and Zeus Airdrift which I wish I could've afforded at this point!

                      Need suggestions.

Well, since 2010, I can remember only 2, earlier this year a guy decided to speed up from behind and turn left just as he was a few inches ahead of me. And 4 yrs ago in Delhi, my leg hit a car when a guy just sped up and there was no space for me to squeeze into. The bumper came off, since it was a Toyota Camry, the guy was pissed due to some sensors knocked off.

I plan to make 200 kms work trips 2-3 times month. So, not much of a tourer but I commute 50-80 kms daily. So I guess I'll add some gloves that offer good protection.

Although these might not be called riding gear, but I need suggestions for some Tank grips for my P220. I need something that would lock my legs around the tank well.

The Nemesis 2 has bigger vents than the Rynox and it looks better too, I've been using one for 8 months, but the winter liner that comes with Aspida is pretty useless if you ask me. It's a short, sleeveless one, I never use it. But it could work in Kolkata as it doesn't get too cold there.

                              Hi members

I need help with buying riding suit. I decided on SMK Stellar helmet as I was unable to stretch my budget beyond it. Now I also need to decide on a tank bag budget 3000, one glove for winter season budget 3500, one riding jacket budget 12-14000.
I was checking the posts here and saw that most people recommend Rynox stealth v3 or Solace furious, also I checked Aspida oddysues jacket.
So from reading I know I have to check armours and check the coverage and weight of armours.
So can owners of these jackets please share pictures of the armours keeping it near a scale or a4 paper so i can know the size ?
I also checked about cordura in few videos online and checked only rynox has cordura in this price but there is no number of denier written, so what is the number anyone knows ?
Also I am buying riding knee guard, is there any benefit buying pants ?
Now coming to gloves I checked BBG, Raida and Solace waterproof gloves. Will think of buying Raida because I liked the way it looks and feels in hand.
Also any good nonmagnetic tank options in my budget ?
                              Thanks all.

Anyway, it was a quick check, maybe there are better deals on them....If you have any links, would appreciate it if you can post it here.[/QUOTE]Check the material too, when you are spending that much.

Remember the type of material - Polyester, Nylon, Polydura, Cordura, bla bla means nothing without the Denier ratings.

                                Goodluck !

After extensive research ( as best as I could ) I have come to the conclusion its better to go for the top of the line Rynox jacktet ( Stealth Evo V3) and pants ( Advento) rather than any Alpinestar, Revit, Scorpion or Held. I had actually short listed the following:

                                1. Alpinestar T GP Plus Air V2 jacket with Andes WP pants ( He quoted 36,500 and brought it to 32 K )
                                2. Scorpion Phalanx Jacket ( 15999) with Drafter Pants ( 9499)
                                3. Held Zorro WP jacket ( 14999) and Vader WP pants ( 12999) OR
                                4. Held Sonic jacket ( 14999) and Zephiro pants ( 10999).

All the European ones have either a summer one ( full mesh) or a waterproof one, with vents for summer riding. The all weather ( WP) ones have vents and breathable membrane for summer riding. But almost all the shop guys are of the view they are not really suited for our tropical climate. I currently ride with a BBF Xplorer mesh jacket and in summers you really sweat in it if you are not moving above 40 kmph. I am in Kochi and its humid. And it rains when the gods fancy it.

Non of the above have a back protector or chest. And most have a CE1 for shoulder and arms. You have get all that extra and its not cheap. On top of it none has rain cover ( No:3 , by default) and you have to buy those as extra. And non has a pouch or pocket to carry it if you buy , so you have to have a sling bag.

The combined Rynox costs 19000 K . You have all the protection on CE2 , you have rain cover, thermal liner and a back pocket to carry the rain liner. These are made for tropical season in mind and I think the Indian brands are the only ones suitable for our climate. I mean on a good budget. Maybe if one is willing to shell upward of 50 / 60 k you may get in these brands good all season ones with everything.

Anyway, I got the Alpinestars Faster2 shoes and the Megawatt gloves.
