Gear Noob here(Literally the first set of gears I am buying for use). I am confused between the various choices and it would be of immense help if someone could help in narrowing down some of the choices. I am using these only for touring and nothing else.

Jacket: Both are good. Take your pick!

Gloves: Rynox Apex Evo IMO, given the Knox SPS which is used in MotoGP standard gloves.

Saddlebags: Rynox, Dirtsack, Viaterra. No looking any further. Rynox Drystack also comes with a Rain cover, besides it being waterproof, so double advantage.

Tailbag: Yeah that should be fine. If you already have a wildcraft bag, you need not buy a tail bag separately.

Tankbag: Viaterra or Rynox. I am personally using the Rynox bag for years. It's flawless. My previous post shall share my experience. But stay away from rip-offs here!

Pant/ Knee gaurd: Aspida or Mototech or the new Scoyco ones are also good.

Seat: Ride Air is a company. You can look up for it. Only heard and seem the product never used it.

OMG! Fine for not wearing ISI helmet, so this will make all those people wearing DOT, ECE, etc. certified helmets like an idiots (including me).
I don't know what the hell Bureau of Indian Standards is doing or in which world they live.

The law is still a proposed one and they are open for comments to have any amendments made to it before it is enforced. So we can only hope to have something better if enough of us write to them to exempt helmets with international standards such as ECE, DOT.

Who are the dealers for Shima in Chennai? I looked up the net, didn't get much info. Send out a mail to the India dealer (based out of Pune) - no responses after a week.

But some dealers seem to deal in Shima products based on the above post? Or the person didn't buy it in Chennai? I saw his location as Chennai and hence assumed he talked to someone in Chennai.

Spoke to ReGear, Vadapalani for Solace riding pants with Sastec 2 protector, but he is out of stock and getting new stocks by Tuesday evening or so.

Looking for a Riding jacket below 10k and looking for something which comes with a rain liner. There are so many things which all of you consider while buying a jacket and while going through the thread I'm super confused. I'm confused to an extent where I'm coming down as a layman asking for three things which I need :
1) Under 10,000
2) Has a rain liner
3) Should be able to wear it to office. (Not too bulky?)

Stretch 11, get a Shima Xmesh jacket.
Under 10 the choices are many but nothing with such quality. Check them in hand and you shall know.
Also, the other jackets will be bulky. See the weight of protectors or the jacket on the website and you shall know.

You can checkout tbg mesh jacket , it's light as well as sastec level 2 protectors all over.

I went to Spartan @ Uthandi today and purchased jacket, boots & gloves. Details to be put up soon.

The sales guy mentioned some discounts for xbhp members and also that my details need to be send to the owner of the shop directly - can I avail that or only for certain membership levels? If someone can provide details, please PM / post it.

I bought Aspida Icarus jacket. Some of the sizes & models have a 25% discount running in the Uthandi showroom and I got the same for this jacket.


Comes with a rain liner and a lot of mesh. CE (level 1) certified armors as well. Fit is good with an L size for me, while my usual shirt size is 42.

Also bought this Eclipse boot with a 35% discount - that was the last piece they had and suited me well.



Need to invest into a riding pants as well - they had a Macna mesh pants for 10K - no discounts whatsoever. I think, for that price, I'd rather prefer Solace riding pants with Sastec 2 for 7.5K. If anyone has a review for the Macna riding pants, please do put it down.

Hi, Sorry for the delayed response.
There are no dealers in Chennai yet. I spoke with couple of online sellers who deals with Shima both of them had same batch which was from 2016 hence I dropped the brand from my list.

Macna Buran pants, 600d material, safetech armours.
Stitching quality was good.

But for the price I would also say Solace offers more, Sastec is way better than Safetech, no doubts. Material is almost same, stitching is great too.

Hi guys, need suggestions on riding jackets. I have short listed Tbg knight mesh as well as solace furious but I am open to other suggestions as well. I want you guys to suggest which one woould be better or if any other jackets are there that provide ce2 protection on shoulder elbow and back. Also if anyone of you know if we have any physical stores in Chennai having tbg gears.
