Hi guys.
Im planning to change my Riding Jacket.
Which one will be better among these?
Dsg Nero?? Or Dsg Triton? Or any other Racing Inspired ones.
Budget : 5k-6.5k.
Any other which are better than these too are appreciated in the list.

I was just thinking & had this query whether chest pads are worth it in commuter level jackets like DSG Aero or Spartan Icarus considering that they are already trying hard to keep the costs down & how can foam based chest protectors help as they could be cheaply produced & incorporated,considering our ribs are already one of the most protectors for our vital upper body organs

It's not easy to chuck the fact as much as easily, as such they are an integral component. Even a 50,000 rupee helmet or a 45,000 jacket isn't fool proof to save you from a crash, and anyone says it can be 100% I'd love to see that person.

Now you need remember, yes, locally made stuff, for price sensitivity, do not add in features like these and so does even reputed brands. Not all brands introduce chest armor in their portfolio and not all completely omits them. It's just the game of riding gears is getting competitive day by day, and it's just another "feature".

That being said, I'd definitely commend for any local brands out there planning to introduce chest armor, be it foam or upgradable ones, at least something is better than nothing.

Well, I have the Pegasus, was about to post a inital review of it and Hyperion after a initial ride of 300+kms in the scroching weather, hope this helps.

Gloves(Pegasus)

Short cuff gloves, would say perfect fro city rides, it did not take time to break -in , was almost easy to use from the first use itself, and set very well after about 10-20kms of useage. Flexing of fingers are quite easy and not a hinderence , since you have been using the tr2g for long time now, this will be too easy to use( i had the tr2g initially).
Nice ventilation, good air supply is maintained, even in the scroching heat, no sweating was experienced, had it on throughout the trip and it was really comfortable. As per my view, it will make an exceptional city useage gloves. Kudos to spartan team for a great product. Stitch quality and look and finish is great too.


Jacket(Hyperion)

This really surprised me, just soon after wearing the jacket and started riding, it was like someone turned on the AC, very cool air circulation within the jacket , it was just perfect, Perfect mesh jacket, Din't sweat in the hot conditions, but in heavy traffic or signals, I did start sweating slightly but it can be considered as negligable.
The armour stays in it's place perfectly and is not felt heavy or so, you will almost not feel the armour is there at all. Good padding for back and kidney area, a good add on.

Another thing I found interesting was that how easily I could walk around wearing it, din't feel bulky at all.

Once again, a great product from Spartan team.

Get yourself DSG NERO or DSG Maze if you're on a strict budget or Spartan Helios extending just 1000 bucks more from 6.5K (just for the goodies they offer) Don't go for Triton. Period.

I have a dsg rage (red & white). Its good in all aspects acc. to the price, except the fact that ,it gets damn dirty and its a hell of a job cleaning it. Have to clean it every weekend as i use it daily. Try getting the dark one ( black n grey) . Also im looking for some good riding shoes around 6-7k for daily use so pls suggest accordingly.

Riding gear!

Hi Guys,

Have been riding with sub-par riding gear on my ceeber and have decided it's now time to upgrade my riding gear and would like some advice on some accessories:

Gloves

Previous:
Previously owned Probiker gloves. Got 'em cheap for 300 bucks and still going good. Plan to use for office commutes (mostly B2B traffic)
Upgrade:
I like the Cramster Flux and Twister models and both are closely priced (1500-1600). I am more inclined towards the Flux model as it features a better, fused design. Any riders here who have tested both?


Knee Guards

Previous:
Didn't own one previously.
Upgrade:
There are two obvious options here, Fox kneeguards and Cramster Bionic. Are the Fox ones good enough?


Riding Jacket

Previous:
Local mesh jacket with elbowguards.
Upgrade:
Not really sure. Do we get anything apart from the usual DSG/Cramster ones in the 4k-6k budget?

Bro, where did you find LS2 jackets? Is it available at Bangalore?

Guys I'd personally suggest not to go for LS2, I don't think they're worth it, just personal opinion. And from the looks of it, it indeed is a tad longer than the other jackets, you don't want to wear something like a trench coat rather a coat.

My advice is to go for the ones discussed in this thread.

Check out rynox gloves too.IMo, they are best in 1500 catergory.If you can up your budget a littlebit, You will get dsg revive which sells somewhere close to 2k mark.

Fox ones are replicas/fakes.Go for cramster.Cheapest genuine knee guards available right now.

I had got spartan helios for 5.8k.Unsure about its current price though.Just see that jacket, compare it with dsg.The materia, the armour, Everything seems a level above than anything else available in market.

RYNOX have launched their Stealth jacket just a day back. Fact of the matter is I need a standby jacket soon, I just couldn't get it in the color I wanted. The red and white with RYNOX is a kick ass color combo. I personally use RYNOX stuffs and quality is really excellent in my personal opinion.

If all goes well, I might even consider this RED which would suit my bike.

I own Twister Gloves & I think we both will be meeting in tomorrow morning's Krishnagiri Dam ride. So you can check them out and see for yourself how they are!

BTW I also own a Cramster Meteor which is a downright SUPERB jacket. Too bad it is out of production now. But you can have a look at that as well..!!

It is legal until you walk into a bank wearing that .
If you can, go for a better quality balaclava ( cramster ones are cheap and lasts for some time)

If anybody is interested I have a brand new riding Jacket for sale got from US. It is made from high density 1680 denier polyester and water proof fabric jacket. I got it for myself but ordered a wrong size by mistake so now have to sell it. The size is 3XL but it runs short and can fit one of medium build 5'8" height. The make is Xelement - Xelement Men's Stealth Black/Green Gunmetal Armored Textile Jacket. Its in bangalore so pick up would be best.
