Biking spirit has one for 1200 i guess, though you can always confirm, also check out decathlon, they have it in <2k.

Viaterra has an 2L hydration pack for Rs. 1800/-

how I can find some understated but protective gloves for me? Any suggestions are welcome

If budget is not a constraint, opt for branded gloves (Spartan/DSG/Icon/Rjays) - the 'S' or 'M' size should be an ideal fit. Most of the unbranded/ProBiker gloves have a one-size-fits-all approach.

Regarding Zeus gear, what actually are you planning to buy? The products are decent and not heavy on the pocket but read somewhere about the stitch quality on the jacket. I am using their gloves, Zeus Street rider Pro, comfortable, nice leather quality but could have done better with the protection level.

Regarding Zeus, Zeus Gears are pretty good, especially the "Highway Rider" gloves are awesome. There are outlets/dealers in Bangalore, Adeshwar Autozone (Lal bagh road) stores their goods and recently a new one opened up near RT Nagar Police Station, as well.
I had checked out the Zeus All Terrain Jacket, pretty good Codura quality and pretty fancy accessories, but it lacks ventilation when compared to Mesh jackets (it has zippers for ventilation) and lacks a good thermal liner (i wasnt impressed by the Zeus' thermal liner - Breezer's is way better).

I wasn't specifically looking for anything - just happened to come across their site and their touring pants seemed impressive and VFM. I also happened to like the Highway rider gloves. Good to know that we are now getting lots of choice when it comes to gear.

Congrats on the Leather Jacket mate, it indeed looks Killer.
P.S : I wonder how are you managing the Leather in this heat. :P

Thanks Sal Actually it's not that bad at all. I had been using a cordura jacket before this one, so I am kind of accustomed to a bit of sweating. Again, this jacket is very well ventilated and inspite of being a leather, the air circulation (while riding) is good enough to keep me cool.


However, I've been reading in lots of articles that harsh sunlight wreaks havoc on leather. Guys having experience with leather garments - please suggest how I can protect the jacket - riding in sunlight is unavoidable Also, might be OT, but can anyone here suggest a good leather conditioner which is available in India? I looked for Lexol and Meguiars, but they're not available on ebay/snapdeal.

On Topic: Any suggestions to an affordable, VFM hydration pack? I am unable to get anything below 3.5K - and if that's the case, I'd rather drop the idea and settle with the good old water bottle

That is the only advantage, be it riding, hiking or cycling or anything, a hydration pack fits better, you can carry it around better and you can be as lazy ass as you want when it comes to stopping for a drink..!! :-P

IMHO apart from what you mentioned the fact is that you might drink water more often as its convenient rather than stopping, removing helmet and gloves and drink water to avoid dehydration, also if you like to ride without taking too many breaks. Curently I am not using one but seriously contemplating getting one..

If you're serious about riding long distance and keeping healthy by being hydrated properly, a drinking bladder is a worthwhile investment. I use a CamelBak myself as they have a lifetime warranty and seriously high quality construction. However, the Viaterra Marine gets my vote from the Indian manufacturers for being well made and priced right. If I'm not mistaken, the biking Spirit unit price is without the bladder, which will set you back by minimum Rs.500/-, so it's the same price as the Viaterra. Equally well made, but lacks the flair and style of the Viaterra.

Remember that the Indian brands have to outsource the bladder and at these price-points, your bladder will have that plasticky taste in the water, which is not there in the Camels and HydraPaks. Otherwise, in terms of bag quality, the Indians are not far behind.

The Biking Spirit Hydration pack comes WITHOUT the bladder. With a 2L bladder, it will end up costing more than the ViaTerra Marine 2L.

And like like Sunnyside_up said the design and finish of the ViaTerra Marine is better.

Guys please suggest me riding cum hiking shoes. I ride classic 500 so the riding stance of foot is pretty comfortable. I would be buying riding boots down the line but now looking for options which will fill both the mentioned requirements.

Had a look at forclaz 500. Looking for something more reasonable.

Actually no, the Breezer RS or Rain-Shine was/is a limited edition jacket that is kinda summer jacket with rain liner while the 4S or 4 Seasons is an all weather jacket

So it is evident from your post that the Breezer RS and 4S are different. But do they have the same exterior look? I googled a lot and found that the RS,4S and their stopped production of the Raptor jacket looks the very same. I"m really confused here. Did Cramster actually made all these jackets with the same outward look??

Well, some companies like DSG & Cramster tend to keep old working design style maybe because if it ain't broken, why fix it OR provide a similar luk/feel among their production lines. The design may look similar but close inspection may reveal different luk, so try comparing them in person if possible to check how both 4S/R+S feel side by side, besides fulfilling these criteria for you -

1 - Fitting
2 - comfort to wear & use all features of jacket
3 - construction look & feel

take your time if you feel confused or until you decide.tc

Am sorry to inform but neither as most of bike safety goods sold on snapdeal/ebay are fake plus some of them are Motocross safety gear that is not useful on streets due to difference in terrain/bike. The price & build often is cheaper than actual production value & possibly will last sometime only. In knee guards, we have

1. Spartan Perseus - 2-3k and
2. Thor knee guard also sold on Spartan - 4-5k
all price are approx. plz check site
These are wore inside the pants like socks & are usually very comfortable
( i wore mine to college for an entire day but didn't feel like i was wearing them, they are that comfortable )

There are others like Cramster Bionic knee guard but laterly don't see them much thus can't comment

Hence I decided to buy the jacket via outdoortravelgear.com and now I'm not sure of the size of the jacket. A M sized DSG jacket is a bit loose on me, so I'm thinking of getting the Breezer in S. I wanna make sure whether the size of the jacket will fit me before buying it.

So can somebody please post the measurements of a S sized Cramster Breezer jacket like the front length, back length,chest width,abdomen(lowest end)width, shoulders length, arm sleeve length, arm width(from 10cm from the starting point of the sleeve),and the cuff width all these preferably in cm. I would appreciate so much if someone posts it soon because only 2 jackets are left(one from S size and another in M). Please help me soon.(fingers crossed)

Every company's size chart is different to others for certain reasons but the sizing differs by varying factors etc, so yes it's possible that Cramster & DSG may have similar sizes but I also suggest that you send a mail to Cramster/Outdoortravelgear & confirm the sizes though both Cramster/Outdoortravelgear support exchange for size issues within 30 days if the Product is intact with all it's tags ( src - Cramster/Outdoortravelgear website ), therefore sizing issues should not be problem with them

RJays Swift jacket come with inner thermal liner but I removed it.. Looking at hot climate of Mumbai... now its completely breathable.. Service from Bachoo Motors is pretty good.. LIked it..
