Recently i see lot of policemen standing here and there in the chennai city, stopping bikes and checking for papers.(maybe looking/spotting stolen bikes etc).

But why do they see my jacket (Spartan) and immediately ask "Were u racing?"

and on explaining that it was for safety, they make fun of it among themselves....:@

Happens all the time; They've asked me several times; when I remove my helmet, most of the times, they ask me to leave even before I could show them my docos

Because they're all dumb s***!!! Worst thing is they touch the gears, which to me, is very irritating. Sometimes those jokers also ask when I'm going & how much time it takes for me to reach

Once an idiot asked me why I'm taking the byepass & not riding through the city which is shorter

Let's keep moving...after all, they're TRYING to do their jobs & let's allow them to be

hey guys, needed suggestions for a good full face helmet
my budget is around 3-3.5k

I want to buy Riding boots and knee gaurds (bionics).
I am thinking of sourcing them with some one from USA or UK.
Can you guys suggest some brands or websites to look for?

About riding boots, I want them to comfortable for daily riding and providing a bit more than basic protection.

About knee gaurds, any good brand other than, alpine star, fox, axxo / thor ?

It's an excellent jacket Rony. Have seen my friends using it. Yes being a mesh jacket, it's a cost bomb, but hey's it's A* and we way more for the premium associated. If you like it, go ahead. It's an excellent buy.

I have a scoyco JK-17 jacket and want to give it a wash. I'm finding it a bit difficult to remove the back armour because the opening is too small. Is it ok if I fold the foam to remove it? Would it break?

It won't break, fold it. What I do is take it out and keep it under heavy flat surface to even it

Bera with it for a few days, youll get the hang of it.

Jacket at 5k..

Nalir, Even i am contemplating to buy a jacket in the same price range. As Argee and Saurabh mentioned, DSG planet have a few jackets in the price range of ours. Since you are from Chennai , a mesh jacket (DSG Maze) would suit t climate but again it is your need that decides your choice. Also look out breezer 4.0 from Cramster it is a nice mesh jacket but received mixed reviews on build and finish. And last but not least, the Spartan Helios jacket. Bikerfas has put a detailed review seconded by another member.

The advantage with Spartan and Cramster are both are availabale in Chennai and you could buy it in the shop after checking your size, fit, feel and finish. not to forget the aesthetics. Do let us know what choice you make and your reviews!

Nalir - Do one thing; go to Velavan Motors at Valasaravakkam; try some jackets out there; ask them few question but..DO NOT make any purchase. Even a balaclava. You'll get some basic education & you may even try out a few. Then come back, go through the websites, you'll now have much much better understanding
