I have a RJ Jetstream2 glove. It is decent for small showers - but don't expect it to be waterproof over heavy ones. The quality of leather and stitching is very good though.

I have heard DSG Aqua gives better waterproofing.

          CBR250R |
          Bajaj Pulsar 180 - dts i |
          Bajaj CT 100

Sometimes it takes a whole tankful of fuel before you can think straight.

It was not that far on the map.

Been using the Optimus M tank/tail bag, EXCELLENT quality, superb finish and recently did a little off-roading with the bag stretched beyond its limits, and boy I was impressed with the way it hugs the bike. Moreover, I just dunked my Cramster Colt saddle bag, whereas everything that would fit the Cramster Colt easily filled the Optimus M with more space for a few shirts etc.

Best bang for the buck and excellent quality of the bags I've ever seen. Cramster, RJays do need to learn from them, I guess. Even RJays saddlebags aren't finished that superbly as RYNOX.

Go for it blindly. THUMBS UP from me

Nice buy there mate, do post your review of how the quality is, waterproofing ability, any loose/extra threads in the jacket, that'd be great. And do let us know how the stuff works in cold weather without fail.

            Cheers!

            The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

+1 second to none on your comment sir. I was just mentioning instances where we "poor bikers" ride for buying groceries or home essentials that is meters or a few blocks away. That said, going to office, or with loved ones etc, I second your point completely.

                  • Picking up 2 Rynox tank bags tomorrow, one shall be used as a tail bag.
Quality, fit and finish, carrying capacity, everything is top notch.

For Rs 3149 per bag, its a steal.

                    • I am thinking of buying ankle high hiking shoes instead of proper riding boots as I don't like Orazo and A* are too expensive, plus I am not comfortable in them.

I have shortlisted Quechua Forclaz 500(rs 3600) and 600(rs5300), and Head 910 high tr(rs 6250, like them but are expensive).
These shoes are waterproof, provide decent ankle protection(better than Orazo), are very comfortable, and can wear them to work as well(construction).
But will the upper last while constantly changing gears, any remedies for this.

Please let me know your views on this, any pros and cons, and any other alternatives.

                      • Trying to buy some decent affordable riding gear

                        Hi guys,

Been searching all over to find some decent (yet affordable) riding gear for myself.

                        Stuff I liked:

                        - Triton red-black jacket available on planetdsg
                        - Knee Guard Biking Knee Guard Set of 2 Pcs FOX RAPTOR RIDING GEAR | eBay

                        Problems:
                        - Triton jackets aren't shown in size M. I emailed planetdsg but yet to get any response from them; whatsoever
                        - How good are those fox raptor knee guards? Anyone has any experience with them?
                        - Yet to find a nice gloves (looking for something in non-leather but with decent knuckle and finger protection)

The only stuff I got is my helmet (bought it like 4 days ago I guess) and I'm taking my bike delivery tomorrow morning. .. Got a list of stuff I need to ask about bike accessories & safety too.. but I guess this ain't the thread for it?

                        Please help

I assume you mean the fake ones available for between 1K-2K. If you can't afford anything better, then I'd say some protection is better than none, even though they would hardly protect.

Have you used Orazo? Been using the I-bis boot, for the past eight months, paid close to 5k for it and bashed it against what mother nature has to offer. Provides good comfort and walkability when used.

If you examine closely, Orazo boots aren't meant to be hardcore protective boots, they are just out of the ordinary, leather cum steel-toed boot for the average joe, providing adequate protection. And yes, if you need more protection, you have boots for it, and as you said, they're expensive.

The only gripe I have is, when I have to remove my boots I really need a member to pull the boot with all his strength. The left comes out soon, the right takes time dunno why

That said Quechua is super stuff, and I don't think there is a dedicated riding boot from Quechua, all it is it looks like a trekking boot, but should fit the bill for riding boot, occasionally but not all the time, my view that is. But if you feel comfortable using it, you can go ahead.

Remember, pricey stuff doesn't mean you're protected to the core, go for what suits you and which you're comfortable with, that will do just fine.

Second, TRITON isn't meant for summer rides, if you're dwelling in an area where it's hot most of the time, try investing in a mesh jacket. Triton is meant for winter wears, though there might be some one-off guys using it as both. But from what I've seen my buddies wear, they always complain it's a useless jacket for summer.

Fox Raptor and most of the knee guards sold in eBay are kinda fake, unless you can differentiate. Most of these are knock offs are 95% ditto as the original, but I am not to say everything is fake, but yes, on average 3 in 5 pieces are fake.

Try getting it from a genuine dealer, don't go for online shopping with knee pads, helmets etc. Though your question wasn't related to online shopping, just for your info, since most them do the same mistake, again and again.

This is the right place to talk all about your gear related queries, feel free.

Triton is meant for winter wears, though there might be some one-off guys using it as both. But from what I've seen my buddies wear, they always complain it's a useless jacket for summer.

OK! .. I thought triton was listed under textile jackets.. thought it would be good with removable warm lining.

Anyway, could you suggest me something in similar price range with "red black" or "red white" combo?

Try getting it from a genuine dealer, don't go for online shopping with knee pads, helmets etc. Though your question wasn't related to online shopping, just for your info, since most them do the same mistake, again and again.
