So should i go for scoyco? Spartan will be a huge stretch for me.Getting scoyco at 4300 and spartan at 6300.

I have read your review.Could you post pics of the armour at back/shoulder and elbow.Also, is this jacket worth extra premium i will pay over scoyco(4.3k/6.3k).

If possible, sould anybody give me a comparo of scoyco jk17 and spartan helios.

Armor wise, Scoyco is one of the best in the price range, if not the best. If Scoyco gear can handle Leh trip without any problem, then it shouldn't be a problem for local usage. I'm afraid there are no hand-in-hand reference with regard to Scoyco and Helios, but you can search seperately in this thread. Both HELIOS and Scoyco have detailed reviews. Google is your best friend.

When gear hunting, unless you're not going to purchase it in-person, it's wise not to purchase, because sizes vary on different manufacturers and fit and feel also differs. Better gear hunt in India if you can, and if you're still not satisfied, then go for overseas.

Guys i'm searching for some good quality jackets & riding gloves..Does anyone know any shops that sell Bikers accessories in Tiruvalla or anywhere near...pls do help me if u know.

Took this out of my HELIOS for a quick snap - please forgive my phone cam!

The armour used in Spartan jackets is the C.E.rated 'turtle' type moulded armour used in much more expensive brands like Joe Rocket and FieldSheer. The back armour is dual density polyurethane again, with two layers of different density fused together.

I don't think that you can compare the two really, since the Scoyco JK17 is a textile jacket with zippered ventilation, while the Spartan Helios is a full fledged mesh jacket designed for maximum venting. Touch base with SriramEfunds - if I'm not mistaken, he used to have a JK17 and has switched to a HELIOS.

It has a rain liner only, yes there is no winter liner.I must say found it comfortable riding in even middle of the day when sun is at full blast.

Rjays Swift review

Hi Friends

Have been using Rjays Swift Riding Jacket & DSG Primal full gauntlets for about 3 months now.

This use includes a 21 days of use in Leh-Ladakh ride as well. Posting a review for Rjays Swift right now.


This Jacket is a Mesh Jacket, with a waterproof liner, no thermal liner though. The water liner itself holds up quite well as thermal liner as well. Its completely windproof. Has CE approved protectors at Shoulders & Arms. Besides the protectors it has foam based pads stiched in the jacket at shoulders & arms, right at the point the armours are inserted, this also gives this a very good look & separates it from normal jackets. Back has a foam based protector (Non CE approved)

Fit : Fits quite well, it could have been an inch long to just be perfect, waist is slightly loose, even after adjusting

Finish : Excellent finish, looks like a Pro for sure

Quality : Excellent, here i mean for the material, the stiches, the zipper & buttons etc.

Durability : Excellent, I believe this Jacket will last at least 3 to 4 years of regular use

Impact protection : Great. I am able to say something about this, since i had a fall, the cordura is just great, saved me my skin on my left elbow

Different Weather conditions : Winter : Great if worn with water liner & a thermal wear inside. Summer : Excellent again, i rode 1400 kms in 2 days wearing this in mid june from Bhubaneshwar to Lucknow, you keep moving, it stays cool. Besides it protects you from Sun. Rain : Good, water Liner can keep water away from entering in for quite a long time in heavy rains, but finally water does seep in somehow.

Value for money : Excellent. Just Rs 6000/-

Overall : Excellent

(Address: 1/1, Suryodaya Estate, 400 034, Next to Everest building, Tardeo, Mumbai, MH, India, 022 2351 0962).
It's an almost all season as in Mumbai heavy rain, you have to put on a rain coat over it to stay completely dry
But it's great in summer and and fits quite well.
As you are in Mumbai itself, it's better to go to the shop itself and check the jackets rather than buying online.

Hai , guys, i had bought the DSG Triton and Cramster TR2G gloves a few months back.
Both jacket and gloves are great, but having size issues, so thinking of getting new ones, i already sold the gloves, and need to get new set.Which gloves should i llok into, need to do a bit more research this time.
By the way, the triton is on sale too, if anybody interested do PM me. Its hardely been used.



P.S: Has anyone noted that A* SP-X gloves are being sold at a discount of 2000 Rs now, it costs only some 4.xxk now in the site, guess, its a real steal, but only xl and above size is available.
