You already owned a DSG Nero, or Maze if I am not wrong. If you're planning to invest in a mesh jacket, go for the one with removable liner. Go for RJays Swift cheap and best stuff. Else you can always use DSG NERO again, cheap and best and both cost the exact 5999 or if you can extend a bit more, you can go for RJays Octane, 7999, you know I've it and for really long trips and will be your best bet.

Else you have Spartan HELIOS mesh jacket, should be an excellent buy considering your need and that too at an irresistible price of 5500.

Since you owned DSG, if you're comfortable with DSG, go with DSG else go for RJays But I'd say go for Spartan. Sexy jacket.

One problem- im looking at jackets for the waterproof lining to be worn from outside as a addition .
But all the jackets ive seen on sportbiketrackgear.com and other sites offer ones which have lining which can be removed .
A mesh jacket usually has a rain liner and a winter liner, both can be removed or in some cases only one can be removed. But 95% of the jackets both can be removed, both for practical usage and washable purposes. If you really want to rain liner above the jacket you have lots of jugaad methods which have been tried and tested.

Regarding prices, you have "n" number of jackets in your price bracket. Make sure your sizing is correct before you order, because different manufacturers sometimes have different size charts, make sure you go through your favorite manufacturer site and then make a purchase accordingly.

You have lots of good stuff here in India itself na

    Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

      • Can torn gloves be sewn back? My DSG revive gloves have a small hole about half an inch wide. Any ideas?
I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

yes it can be sewn back but the integrity of the gloves is lost. so the next time you fall the sewn place will be the first to give way. its the same if you leave it unstitched. better buy new gloves.
          Regardless, Life shall go on.

Depends on where. If it's on a palm area, better yourself a new one, because that's where your palm is gonna take the brunt if you take a fall. If it's above the hand and a small in finger areas, you can do some patch work with a piece of leather to cover it up, but mind you, since adding a piece of leather will not only make the stitching difficult and can also obstruct finger passage inside.

But being judgmental on where to sew in back with a leather patch is imperative. Else you can always get a new one

            Cheers!

            • Which Boots

Hi Guys, i am totally confused right now on which riding boots to buy between the SIDI Vertigo Performance Racing Store. SIDI Vertigo Air Boots
              and A* SMX-5 Alpinestars S-MX 5 Boots : RS Carbon - 17,499.00Rs.
Well the vertigo is more track oriented and had much more safety than the MX. But my riding is on road 95% of times. One other thing, the vertigo has many changeable parts which are kind of fitted on (side vents, heel protection, etc) in case of a fall if these get damaged replacing them would be expensive and would take time. But of course the A* is priced higher, with lesser protection.
Reading around (US bike forums) i found some people saying A* is more comfortable. I feel it may be right because i just bought A* gloves and they are great for comfort and fit.
So would like your views on these. Both of them would take around a month is what i think even if i buy from the above sites.

Go with the Sidi's, they last (almost) for ever and one of the top manufacturers of motorcycle boots, you never know when you need the extra protection.
Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

Pretty simple. The A* has pretty good Carbon Fiber which offers excellent abrasion resistance than plastic components in SIDI. Not to say SIDI is anyway inferior than A*. But all those bits and pieces of plastic may be best suited for track use and use and throw, as the demand expects out of the boots.

The A* S MX 5 Boot is a perfect balance between street and racing heritage. You have all the basic things that you need in a race spec and oodles of carbon fiber which offer excellent abrasion resistance, than plastic and the plus you get is it doesn't falter the looks of the boot too, rather in plastic you can clearly see moulds getting flattened or scratched.

As carbon fiber resists abrasion, even if it gets scratched, the very look of it will make it hard to discern the scratch, won't hurting your ego after spending so much money.

My take A* MX 5 BOOT eyes closed.

                  Cheers!

Sorry but not to make you intimidated, but you said A* website says "ROAD" what does road and street mean, same right A friendly note.

A* and Thor are excellent ones, provided FOX too. Considering the rip-offs you get in FOX than A* and Thor, I'd suggest don't go for FOX in eBay. Try sourcing A* and THOR from a branded retailer, so you get a peace of mind and if you're willing to pay the premium.
