I see 2 different type of A* Reflex knee guards
    1. Alpinestars Reflex Knee Guards - RevZilla
    2. Reflex Knee Guard | Alpinestars

Now why is there a difference in the models?
    Has there been an updation?
This would be my first purchase from abroad & there is no way I can send it back. So help!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

              • Needs some help in narrowing down a Jacket / Gloves.

                Jacket

From what I've read so far there is no 'real' all-weather jacket.
Also for our Indian conditions a fabric (breathable) jacket makes more sense.

Having said that what would be a best all round jacket ?

                DSG Triton (6.5k)
                Cramster Breezer 4.0 (5.5k)

Both comes with weather proof lining etc etc.
So, does this mean I can use them in the rain and stay "completely" dry ?

There is something called Alpinestars Argon Weather Proof Jacket but its too expensive at at 17k

Or does it make sense to buy Alpinestars T-GP Plus Air Jacket ? (8.5k)

Or should I get a summer jacket + rain gear from say Duckback.

                Gloves

Based on the reviews I've read DSG Aqua is really truly waterproof.
However this also makes it non-breathable and hot to use.

I've had 2 injuries on my right hand a broken thumb and a torn ligament.
So I'd like a gloves that is comfortable yet practical and some what VFM

Something like Alpinestars SP-X that is not too exp.

Again should I buy some thing usable (read breathable and not so waterproof) or go for something like Aqua ?

Or should I buy a mesh glove (read cheaper) and buy a waterproof as 2nd glove ?

For pants I think a normal rain gear would be best.

Suggestion / views / comments please.

Well that depends on your definition of REAL!

                  True that.

To keep it short and simple: If you are looking for an ALL weather Jacket >>> CRAMSTER BREEZER is the one for you!

Both comes with weather proof lining etc etc.
So, does this mean I can use them in the rain and stay "completely" dry ?
NO! TO stay completely dry you need to have Rain Gear, like DUCKBACK! No Jacket, as you quote can keep you completely DRY!

There is something called Alpinestars Argon Weather Proof Jacket but its too expensive at at 17k

All these options can be properly channelized once your budget is transparent to us. Else you have a vast range to select form.

For Gloves, It first depends on your location! Also secondly how much are you gonna ride in rain? If that can be roughly estimated you can go for your choice of gloves. Personally, Don't think that there is a VFM product than DSG Revive @ 2k INR!

I mentioned the price as an indication of my budget.
                    I'm ok to pay 8.5 k for the A*
However I'll be happy to pay anything less.

                    Jacket Max budget 9k

Gloves around 4k (just because my had gets pretty stiff after 50-70kms)
I really don't mind getting anything from the A* range even if it costs say around 5k.

                    Gloves Max budget 5k

Have another 4-5K set aside for replacing my Helmet.
Thinking of SL 68 S II (Black or white)

Also rain gear is there any recommendation in the Duckback range ?
All looks almost same and around the same price range 1-2k

Boots, Pants are not in the scope of this discussion

                    Thanks again

Let me throw in my two cents here. First off, you need to differentiate jackets from "water resistant" and "water proof" Though most of the jackets out there are labeled "water proof" truth is they ain't 100% waterproof, they are just water resistant to a degree and that's about the water resistance property of the so called mesh jackets out there.

Now you need to keep in mind there are excellent completely waterproof riding jackets that are in abroad, they are a little heavy and stiffer and the very material they are used to manufacture have double or triple waterproofing liners which are specifically made "WATER PROOF"

When it comes to mesh jacket, don't even think any jacket out there is waterproof, it's just "water resistant"

Regarding all seasons or all weather jacket, i myself have an all weather jacket. That said, it has it's own set of advantages, not just because of two liners, but the very design of the jacket and the comfort is pretty awesome. I'd suggest go for all weather jacket. And that price, I keep on saying this "n"
number of times, the best bang for the buck is Cramster Breezer 4.0 out there.

I've seen members use it in the craziest of winds, rain you name it and it has just come out with flying colors, even crash tested.

Since you have used it and knows folks who use it, I really appreciate the feedback. This is the best kind of review, "real world" use

Will try that when I go to the shop.
                        Thank you.

Regarding pants, you can wear a nylon pant along with nylon jacket on top of the riding jacket if you want even more rain protection, which are 100% waterproof and you can get them at local store.
                        I have a question.
                        I think I should be a size M for the Jacket (Shirt size 39, 5ft 7")

So when getting a rain coat / pant should I get L ? ('cus I'll be wearing it over the M sized Jacket )

                          Glad to help mate.

Regarding the over pants and jackets, I can't rule out the sizes too, because jackets outside usally make you appear larger, so going over one or two sizes is plausible. But again, if you can spend the time to go to the shop, wear it in person along with the jacket, you will get a clear picture and adjust your sizes accordingly.

                          Cheers!

These boots aren't meant for riding. They may be water-proof but using it frequently on a motorcycle can wear these types of boots pretty soon. Yes for city rides, these boots will be good, but don't expect any protection whatsoever.

If you have a GF and plan to take her for a special night out these boots might do the work plus you get extra points for looking good.

But a good buy by the way! I truly don't think this boot is worth 8k in the first place!

                              Cheers!
