  • Thanks a ton pratikumehta. How much more should one expect to pay for custom and import taxes over and above the.listed price. AS far as i know, the listed price is inclusive of item price and shipping. What other charges are incurred. Any idea about the quality of Xelement

    • Can somebody suggest me a good pair of gloves for daily use in 2k?
I would rather be riding my bike thinking of God, than sitting in the temple thinking of my bike.

@B7ACKTHORN - Whats your take on the xelement jackets available on ebay. I think i read on BCM touring website that these jackets are made in Pakistan. Irrespective of where they are made. Any views.on xelement
Nope buddy. As far as my knowledge goes Xelement and Joe Rocket are pretty much the same quality wise, and I've read the reviews of it, but not seen it in person or anybody wear for that matter. If you can invest in some good jacket, go for A* ICON, that ones. Else you can come down to budget ones such as RJays, and even cheaper DSG etc.

Check out the RJays Sprint Boots. At 4999, they should be your best bet, coupled with Orazo Picus. Picus gets really sweaty and smelly sometimes, depends on the socks you wear too, cotton wicks moisture and provides comfort. But PICUS being a steel toe, don't expect too good of a comfort, while walking with these. Yes PICUS are excellent boots and are comfortable walking too, but not as comfortable as daily usage.

Sprint on the other hand are practical, and really cool looking with protection of a ankle level race boot with the functionality of an ordinary boot.

But i was researching ebay for the last 1 month for a jacket . I even posted a query on the same thread for the same .
In the course of my research ive found out that if you keep looking for a good deal on Ebay GEB you can find a steal sometimes .
But there are some things you should remember while looking at buying from GEB (don't tell me i dint warn you )
        1. Ebay is totally safe . I trust them fully and their customer care is exemplary (some ppl may not agree But there are always detractors) .
        2. You like something on GEB first step is to Google the item and look for reviews for the same .
3 . Look for video reviews of the likes of sportbiketrackgear.com etc etc .
        4. Get the proper sizes - almost all the listings from ebay GEB are with a sizing chart , refer to it and order the proper size for you (you dont wanna end up with a jacket which dont fit you ,do you ?)
        5. All ebay GEB items are customs and shipping paid in the price so no tension of customs seizing your shipment .

I am not a ebay employee or something but here are some deals which i found were worth the price .

        4. Joe Rocket Leather Honda - BRAND NEW MENS XL JOE ROCKET COAT HONDA SUPER SPORT RACING MOTORCYCLE JACKET (Rs. 8466) - Rs 8466/- NOW Thats a steal !!

        1. Sorpion EXO Hat Trick - Scorpion EXO Womens Hat Trick White Armored All Weather Motorcycle Jacket (Rs. 9550) - Rs 9550/- Awesome brand (chk the sizes )

Lastly i just wanna say that these are just some of the good deals i found out while researching . who knows maybe you will find a Alpinestars or a Scorpion or a THOR for around 8k-12k if youre lucky .
        keep searching .
The S&S jacket pictorial is next . Jus lemme finish some work . Gotta earn dude , or where will the money for the fuel come from ??
Exactly. eBay is full of surprises and crazy deals. Just gotta keep track of it, and you're in for something.

Anyone know a good place in Delhi to pick up a biking jacket? I have a Duke so thinking about picking up a DSG Rage Orange from Meandering India, Vasant Kunj (they still don't have it in stock though) or a Cramster Breeze 4.0? Looking at a mesh jacket because it's hot in Delhi. Anyone have any other suggestions for a jacket as well as stores in Delhi?
Cramster Breezer is your best bet and I keep saying this "n" number of times, if you go back the thread. Excellent VFM, at that price points, makes it an all weather jacket. You can always buy Cramster from their website. Their new website has the option to purchase things directly from their site, so it should make things easy. Else you can go to their contact us form and check their store details, they have it right there in their website, all you need.

DSG Revive and DSG Nitro, both are sick gloves, and my buddies use it, excellent bang for the buck. My personal best, DSG Revive, superb VFM. They both cost 2250, so if you extend just 250 rupees, you get a really good, leather glove.

They are good guys to deal with and will replace your boot with a size big\small size if needed.

Make sure of your UK feet size before you order. The boot has a steel toe and plastic ankle protection. Decent water resistance as well. I hope you don't expect it to be as comfortable as your normal leather will be. But it is certainly worth the trade off.
I used it on the Leh trip as well - gave me good weather and water protection for a Rs 3600 boot.

                • B7ACKTHORN - Thanks for the response. These Xelement jackets come quite cheap and they seem to be more vfm since they come with LEVEL 3 Armor. Whats the difference between the armor on dsg and Level 3 armor on Xelement.

My mind is still stuck on triton as it is halfway between sport and tourer. Thanks to you, im considering the maze as well.

If i get a colored jacket i.e. DSG MAZE in red, will it b difficult to maintain.

I have a Xelement leather gloves and I assure you they are absolutely VFM! Best purchase I have made till date. However, as far as jackets are concerned, I'd strongly suggest that you buy one locally AFTER TRYING them out cause even though sizes might be the same across jackets, the fit isn't.

From what I know Xelement jackets are the only ones (few exceptions) that only come with the so called "Level 3" protection. By far and done, it's just a marketing gimmick. The armor in these jackets are manufactured in China and they are are a certified armor. They fall into the same category as the CE approved armor. The Level 3 is nothing but another marketing gimmick, whereas the armor are certified how other armors are tested and are CE certified.

I'd say dump the Triton and get yourself either Breezer 4.0 or the DSG Maze. The armor in both of these jackets offer good protection.

And Maze being a good performer, it has bits of leather on the shoulder and cuff area that's the only thing to maintain. The jacket in itself is pretty "maintenance-free" like all textile jackets. The jacket be any color, be it red, blue, black need not even worry, except white, where any dirt may make a black spot. But, it isn't a big deal to maintain a textile jacket. But what you got to worry is leather. Maze has leather in the shoulder area for abrasion resistance coupled with the textile.

But that said and done, it isn't a rocket science to maintain a leather. Just proper care, drying and applying leather waxes or polishes will keep them shining till they rip apart.

                      And always glad to help

                      Cheers!

Scoyco is by far "CHEAPEST" gear available, and it was even cheaper months back, but now prices have increased 300 to 600 bucks. No, it is an absolute VFM jacket, for its price point. No fuss jacket. Cheap, reliable, and quality is great.

I have seen the JK 17 being used daily as well as on long trips. The quality of the armour is better than similar DSG offerings. But it is not a mesh jacket and does not come with a separate liner.
But it will give you decent water resistance and a manageable ride on hot conditions. It is a tight fitting jacket though - make sure you wear it and are able to bend your arms correctly.

                              • Speed & Strength - The moment of truth jacket

Recently after a lot of surfing Ebay GEB . got hold of a superb deal on A S&S jacket for just around 8.5 k . Just got a delivery and here's my first thoughts
                                1. Its a mesh jacket so it aint gona protect from rain riding without the inner liner which btw is very good quality
                                2. Bio Armour is removable .
                                3. Its a mesh as i said before . So its somewhat see thru but airflow's gonna be awesome .
                                4. Fitting with the liner and without it is mind blowing .
                                5. Cuffs have Velcro adjusters as well as a chain and a snap lock button .
                                6. One thing i noticed was that the liner dosent have any snap locks or Velcro locking inside the sleeves . But that dosent matter much for me .
                                7. Night visibility is somewhat compromised with just one piping at the back ( maybe the awesome S&S logos are reflective )
                                8. Nice adjusters on the sleeves as well as waist adjusters .
                                9. All chains are with rubber tags to prevent scratching your bike .
                                10. Has extra fitting for a pant which can be attached to it . I suspect it will pair with a S&S pant only ( Not that ima buy one . I prefer Jeans)
