Check ebay/flipkart etc. A friend recently bought from ebay for around 2.5k.
Ebay might still have , probably fakes but still, lemme see.

BTW, forgot to put this disclaimer at first: I dont promote listening to music while riding in city. I personally use them only for getting notified of incoming calls, and music ONLY when riding on open 4+ lane highways, that too at soft volumes.
Agreed, i dont often listen to music while riding, but when i do its very soft volume music and i avoid hip/hop kinda punchy numbers because it might affect my right wrist too :-P
But i cant adjust without music while in bus or train, which i use quite ofetn now a days, so thinking of a good headphones and preferably wireless.
I think its getting offtopic now, let me stop here.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

And I stated clearly "it was my opinion" and "n" number of times in my other comments, if you've followed my comments. And I always entitle, "ultimately the decision is yours"

Popping up all of a sudden, questioning me, about decimal precision, what am I supposed to answer!! LOL! Please.....

Again, there is nothing serious about the "decimal precision" the very reader knows it, by the way we articulate whether it's PRECISE, factual or preferential. PERIOD,
You seem intent on contradicting yourself.

In your first sentence above, you say that "decimal precision is based on factual basis", and then in your third sentence you say that "it was my opinion" !! Since when is fact and your personal opinion the same thing?

After a LOT of "circumambulation", you have just admitted that your post with ratings of the jackets are NOT based on any facts and JUST your personal opinion!

YET when you posted the ratings, you did not mention this and just proclaimed the scores - in effect publishing personal OPINION as FACT - and when I asked for the basis of your scoring, you declared they were your opinion based on experience!! So here's a new word - "confabulation"!

Anyway, I think I've made my point - please do not proclaim anything as fact unless you have the data or figures to back you. Many newbies and youngsters depend on this forum for advice and guidance. It's up to the seniors like you to make sure that they have clarity to their queries.

        Cheers and Goodnight!

          • Thanks for all the suggestions guys.
Just found the same gloves for sale on eBay for 400 bucks!

Anyways, I'm thinking of putting off the purchase for a few days - until I'm able to save up for the DSG Revive!

              Fantastic question;
I own JR for nearly 2 years now (haven't crash tested yet ) & spent about 2 hours looking the Spartan Progear's Jacket.
Coming to my JR, I would've loved my JR ONLY if...it weren't leather at elbow & shoulder (or someone helped me clean the leathers every time ); the water proof inner pocket with water proof zipper helped me in my recent trip to a great extent.

With Spartan's, I found the same type of construction, same water proof inner pockets + no leather (which is what I need), hand cuffs can open with zipper (compared to large close fit on JR); to me this looks like a pure VFM product.

If you can wait for few more days, I can come up with a detailed review as my purchase time frame was a month ago Only thing that keeps me away is...availability

100% usability; I've been using my JR for everyday use in addition to my PowerTrip that did it's faithful job last June. This is the reason I'm opting for a new Jacket now.

A while back, I got meself a fake Alpinestars mesh gloves, for 375 bucks from eBay. By the very looks of it,one can clearly discern it's fake. But you must see the description given in eBay, "genuine Alpinestars glove at unbeatable price" Now I've been wearing this glove for close to a year, and even during my Leh ride, performed well. Even many experienced guys, were into thinking it was a genuine, one went "wow how much did you pay for this glove"

Only when I removed it and showed them to in person, they came to know what a fake and a genuine stuff would look like.

Aargee is true to an extent, as long we don't have eagle eyes for gear hunting, we're in for a surprise.

                    Cheers!

I do like these kind of products, If the quality is good /at par with the branded ones. I don't see a reason to call it as fake /consider it a cheap product. May be a violation of copy rights act. What if the same company uses their own brand name? We ask less question and pay more for established brands to buy them, on the contrary we pay less and ask more questions to not to buy them.

I said I like them, but I myself do not buy any non-branded products "Trust factor".

Did I say I don't like branded products? but sometimes I don't like myself spending on products just for their Brand sake.
I usually go for branded products, be it shoes or garments. But, its never for the brand or the image. Most of the well known manufacturers do not have their own manufacturing facility. They have vendors, they have their own designs though, and they have quality control. Eg. Nike. There are so many other brands that do the same. Talking in biking terms, how many of us out here bought their bike for John A or for H.Roshan? ( I do know a few Sachin fans though). I must have worn out atleast 12 pairs of woodland shoes, their once bread and butter design. The last pair had mushy soles. Haven't bought one since 6 yrs. Considering one now though. So its not only about the brand. But what makes one go for a brand? Because they care about it, they know once quality control takes a back seat they are forgotten and they do quite a bit of research. But, if one can get a similar product made by a vendor for a brand and it is good there is no harm. usually these do not have a brand, When a vendor gets an order for say 200 shoes, he usually makes 400, its all included in the costing. The rejects are seconds, the rest are surplus. But they will usually not have a brand attached to it.

A fake is a completely different story. Ofcourse there are certain 'intelligent' individuals that would want to make some on that. End of the day it is upto us to choose and decide what is good for us.

I would rather say its a compliment, a rather nasty one if it might be, to have someone duplicate a product or a brand.
