    Ha ha .

I just got it yesterday and the next 60 days are going to be very busy. Hopefully might give a review of it after a short ride.

Initial impression:- The jackets feels premium. Helios is a very good jacket but this one is worth the extra buck (Purely on the basics of wearing and comfort level). The jackets looks good also.

The glossy looks are what makes the latter feel a little "bigger" than the former. If I had to choose, I'd go for the red one, personally.

EDIT - Am assuming that you will be using it above the pants. The Reflex would work ok if worn under the pants.
Been using the Reflex for about 4 years now, and has worked wonderfully well barring the knee cup issue that you mentioned. But it is something one can get used to and find means to make it work. Plus I've always liked the extra long length of the shin area of the Reflex which covers up a good area even if I'm not wearing riding boots. That being said this Vapor at just about 10$ more seems pretty good considering that its got a thigh strap but looks like the shin area is a tad smaller than the Reflex. Would be wearing the knee guards above pants.

But my Reflex guards are old now and have been crash tested as well (see pics for reference). They have come out with flying colours ...I would really want to stick A* for knee protection, but some how don't like the pivoting knee joint of the bionic guard. Also, the elasticity of the velcro straps are almost gone now.

Posting pics of my Reflex Knee guards, the 'melted scratches' are from a crash 3 years back. I don't know what would have happened to my knees if I was wearing a lesser than A* quality knee guards.

Folks please "invest" in riding gears wisely, you never know which element of your riding gear will be tested by the road....

There is always some sarcasm involved in your posts Praf, hehe Personally I'd always go for something that suits my fit, my size.

+1 on the Velcro part, even some few month old A*s (provided genuine of course) people have reported losing "stickiness" of the velcro for well over a while now.

                    • Hi all. Is there a place in Pune where I can buy Spartan gear? To be specific, jackets. Or is it online only?

                      Thanks in advance.

Thanks xtremevicky. I did you buy from their store in Chennai, or ordered online? How many sizes are available?

Thanks for your views. Looking forward to a more in depth review of the jacket. I am planning to get a jacket, confused between DSG and Spartan - DSG I can avail locally in Pune whereas Spartan boasts of high value:money ratio and peeps here rate Spartan highly. In short, please post the review soon. Hehe.

It is mainly for winter riding only, for summers it\s basically an oven , if you are of sweaty nature then it's not a good deal. and the paddings are not that great too. Its ok, double foam padding for elbow and shoulder. But feels flimsy. I can say so because i owned one.

Better check out Rjays and Spartan jackets in that range. They are the best options with better armor and quality is concerned.

                              Cheers
