Haha...Mate you should really read this thread a few pages. Then you'll get an idea. Many of the members here use Rjays. BLACKTHORN is using Rjays, Christo is using Rjays and many people whom i know from Xbhp uses Rjays, it's a great rpoduct , and coming to spartan don't tell me you din't hear about them being used in India. it's an Indian brand started by a group of Enthusiasts, bikers like us and the very same reason why it is so popular and in good demand.

Yes RJays have been almost laid to rest after a prolonged reviews, or close, and as of now RJays doesn't offer all weather jacket. I'd suggest you look for Cramster Breezer for an all season jacket or the Spartan Helios, which has all the liners, with added a little cost for an extra liner.

Cramster's armor aren't that good, but considering the good armor in Spartan with the goodies it offers, go for HELIOS or the Spartan Odysseus jacket for all weather

      Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Thanks for your views. Looking forward to a more in depth review of the jacket. I am planning to get a jacket, confused between DSG and Spartan - DSG I can avail locally in Pune whereas Spartan boasts of high value:money ratio and peeps here rate Spartan highly. In short, please post the review soon. Hehe.

Yup. I will post my review soon.

I got the jacket from a authorised dealer here in Bangalore. Another member had purchased the jacket so I went and tried both M and L.

L fits properly with liner but without liner its not a perfect fitting. M was cramped for me.

        I am 5 11 and have a lean body.

I am not sure what you mean by an 'All Weather Jacket'.
RJ Octane does come with a detachable rainliner - and it works well in rain\cold. I personally have used it in very hot (~48 deg in Rajastan) to very cold (~ -10 in Ladhak) and it has served me true. And I use it daily on my Mumbai commutes as well.
In my experience, it has good build quality, daily usability and 'Looks' if you need it.
Please do not tell the RJ brand has been laid to rest - I am pretty sure the amount of good reviews in this thread far outweigh the bad.

P.S: I do feel there is no such thing as an all round jacket. Barring the new jacket brands like Spartan -which I have not used- RJ Octane continues to be the best compromise to an all rounder you can get under 10k - in my opinion.

          • You got all the points wrong, here's why. I've used both octane and all seasons. By all seasons I meant the thermal liner included or at least most jackets I know of are sold that way.

All nylon insert jackets do provide good heat insulation. I myself used just my rain liner for my ktop and leh ride, the thermal came in handy at pang tso.

By so called laid to rest I meant, there aren't much reviews of RJays as opposed to a while back. That doesn't mean it's laid to rest, it means it's reviewed enough already

Please go through my post if there is any discrepancy.

            Cheers!

              - Yes they do. But try one on summer. So it really cannot be called a summer jacket and hence an all weather jacket.

              - You should be clear while using such statements buddy . For us laymen, laying to rest means the jacket is dead\have bad reviews. There may be lots of people waiting upon the word of a senior poster like you.

Fair enough. All I am saying is that the rainliner in RJ Octane will do the same thing as well.

                  - Yes they do. But try one on summer. So it really cannot be called a summer jacket and hence an all weather jacket.
I am sorry, and I just don't wanna drag on something that needs to be "understood". It's pretty clear that you've either never worn an all season jacket, or at least.

There are three uses. The mesh (the jacket as is for air flow) for summers, nylon liners for moderate rain/windcheater and thermal for those extra insulation/protection.

Now I most of the times, wear my rain liner either if it's summer, winter or rainy, it goes in all day, of course it's subject to individual discretion, some wear some don't

Your point " But try one on summer. So it really cannot be called a summer jacket and hence an all weather jacket" you're really contradicting.

You know it's summer, you know you can't handle it with liner, then why in the world you would wear a liner Ridiculous.

Icarus is the cheapest in their arsenal, more or less resembles the RJays Swift. Why can't you save some more and get the Hyperion! Personally like that jacket.

                    1) Cramster TRG II - 2300/- "Even after being new I feel it very comfortable to wear, though I don't think its fully leather gloves but can provide very good protection for sure. Gloves looks good too, finishing is also good. Good for Daily & Touring use (Which I Prefer).

                    2) DSG Carbon 2750/- "Used it before buying TRG II, again very comfortable & gives you that soft feeling on palms, same as TRG II but Leather seems to be more thick compare to TRG II & also there is carbon protection over the wrist. but its a Huge & bulky one.

                    3) Rjays Swift - 2500/- 3,000- "Genuine Leather & Comfortable but on little higher cost. although worth."

Regarding gloves DSG Revive are best bang for the buck, yes obviously for those who don't prefer full gauntlet.

                    • Please do not quote unless you read entirely through my post.

Let me respond to the above post.
I am sorry, and I just don't wanna drag on something that needs to be "understood". It's pretty clear that you've either never worn an all season jacket, or at least.
if you check my previous post, I was saying the RJ Octane will do fine in all conditions. I have tested it and it works fine. If you have something against this, please let me know - with facts.
P.S: If you don't want to drag it on, why post against this mango Abdul who is obviously nanga in your great opinion? I have not worn the 'All Season Jacket' at all dear.

                      Now another gem
Your point " But try one on summer. So it really cannot be called a summer jacket and hence an all weather jacket" you're really contradicting.
How can a nylon jacket be an all weather jacket if it cannot be used in summers? (You sweat like hell in it). And you say I contradict myself when I say so. I would like you to tell me how you would call a Nylon jacket (with any sort of liner) as an 'All Season Jacket'.
                      Gem number 2:
You know it's summer, you know you can't handle it with liner, then why in the world you would wear a liner Ridiculous.
Pardon me sir, but where have I said that you have to wear a jacket with liner in summers. I may not be an expert like you, but please I am no idiot.
Let me sum up what I am trying to say all along:
RJ Octane is a great jacket in my opinion. I have tested it from -10 to ~+50 degrees and is of the opinion that it is a very good jacket.
RJ as a brand need not be given a 'Laid to Rest' - as long as good reviews are more than bad ones.
If you have any issues with the above two sentences, please correct\debate on that - Instead of going off the tangent.

But you gotta keep in mind there are two varieties that come in these bags, one for fiber fuel tank bikes, and metal tank ones. Fiber tank ones have suction cups, and magnets are usually for metal tank, just so that you know and make a good decision.
