Kindly let me know which one should i go for? Or kindly suggest something else.
The first one is good for summer climates, the second and third are basically "all weather" jacket. The Eclipse is my favorite when it comes to price to protection, though a tad costlier than Breezer. You get leather all through the sleeves, which considering the price, and being an all weather jacket, I'd love to go for.

I'd suggest you go for Eclipse, spending a little more for that extra protection.

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

    • Guys,
I'm all set to get a new set of riding gears , previously i was having DSG triton and cramster TR2G. Both great products.
Now I'm looking for a great mesh jacket which i can strech to almost using most of the time around the year and a great short cuffed gloves.

      So my shortlisted candidates are

      Jacket

Spartan Hyperion and Alipinestar T-GP Plus.

      Gloves

DSG Revive(read plenty reviews and good once at those) and Spartan Pegasus(any reviews ? din't find any here).

Found a review for the Hyperion from this thread, and found that it has removable rain liners, how good is it ? as a* doesn't come with that and is 1k more costlier than the spartan. And the features of Spartan is pulling my hard, while the a* brand value yanks me right back, so i'm kinda in the center.

Same with the gloves, Would really appreciate some help here. In deciding .

P.S: And a friend of mine said there was some problem with the online ordering in the spartan gear website. Any other way i can get the product online. Sunny sir, if your listning , can you clear this out ?

      Cheers

      • I was looking for my first riding jacket. Based on the reviews and discussions here, decided to go for a mesh jacket. I checked out the following jackets at the shop.

        - DSG Rage
Black color was not available. So, not an option. Nero was not recommended for hot weather in India.

        - Spartan Icarus
Icarus is a new jacket by Spartan. This was my first preference just because of the low price of 4.3k. The dealer said Spartan was selling Helios at 5.8k before. Now they have introduced new Helios which is priced at 6.3K and has upgraded armor. Icarus has the same armor at older Helios.

        - Spartan Helios
This was the new upgraded Helios.

After trying the Helios, I felt Icarus doesn't just fit well for my size. A Helios L is perfect whereas the shoulders are always loose on a Icarus M or L size. Helios has more straps to adjust the jacket. Also, Icarus is shorter in length, and has lot fewer reflectors. It was perfect, expect for the fitting, short and very loose shoulders.

After half an hour of comparing both, bought the new Helios.

Do give an indepth review on the new helios after logging some miles with it. A test of the rain liners would be icing on the cake.

            • First biking gear

After recently buying my beloved Apache 160, i decided to spurge abit on biking gear on a shoe-string budget & finally got these from Pro-biker shop, MG road, Pune & is a Vega flagship store

              1. LS2 helmet
Originally wanted to go for a dual-sport SOL helmet but the seller had only THH/TiH dual sport helmets for 4-4.3k, besides he said he wasn't sure about it's spares & having read , so went for trusty LS2 helmet with AirGo adjustable cheek pads for 3.5k

              2. Alpinestar All-weather mesh jacket
has shoulder, back & elbow foam pads with reflective lining & logo, also came with a remove-able thermal wear that is attachable vis zipper, for 3850/-

              3. And finally Pro-biker gloves( L size), also the seller also had the Scoyo gloves(1k) but being a light-medium rider, i thought these gloves seem good enough for beginning biking gear for 500/- though similar gear on ebay/shopclues seem to retail at 350-450 but they were only available in XL & i wasn't sure about my size

From where did you get your A* jacket from? It's definitely a fake one buddy. I've personally never seen such crazy design pattern from A*

But helmet wise I think the deal was okay. Jacket wise A* brands are very costly even for a basic jacket.

                Cheers!

I got them from Pro-Biker, MG road, Pune. Yup, they do seem fake & the seller mentioned first-copies from another shop which shut-down, so he got these which were either available in these or complete black besides one of the primary reasons, i got them, was bco i cudn't find a Scoyo jacket & went with these instead as he either had pro-biker jacket (dsnt seem to have the foam pads) or costly LS2 jacket at 6k. Cramsters & DSG were kinda out of budget besides slight protection on tarmac is atleast better than none

                    Helmet choice = Good
Probiker Gloves = Good for commuting
                    Jacket = Thumbs down.
I understand that budget was spoilsport in your case but I would suggest you should have waited then opted for cramster/dsg.
These local jackets have cardboard guards which would be of no use in any case. Try save money and get a good one soon. Till then ride safe.

Yup, i agree & as i quoted earlier, i wanted to go in for Scoyo jacket for 3k but couldn't find one [scoyo indian website is also down along with the other website that was mentioned in earlier post] & the cool Spartan Icarus for 4.3k[ Spartan doesn't have authorise place in pune yet] , the jacket does contain foam pads that seem to have reasonable thickness which could possibly hold ok in minor cases, right

PS- later found Cramster's BREEZER 4.0 - 3 in 1 Mesh Riding Jacket - True All Weather for 4.9k though are their armors good as most say they are not at par with A*,Scoyo or DSG

Why risk with local brand jackets, even LS2 dont make jackets.

The comparison of the three brands is there in my signature

LS2 does make jackets, it's just recently introduced, IIRC Blackthorn had posted a pic from their facebook page in this forum, but it seems too costly to get anyone's attention.

LS2 jackets have been launched off late, and their starting range is from 6k if I am not wrong. But I would never spend on a paisa on an LS2 jackets. I've never even seen them or worn them for that matter. But by the looks of it, definitely an inferior stuff, more or less in the range DSG Nero range, personally.

That being said, SCOYCO is by far the best stuff, I can vouch for, after using them for years and "raping" the gloves, still going strong after 4 years. And personally, I would always insist, SCOYCO better than most cheap jackets sold any day, it's just that SCOYCO's textile component is a little lighter than the ones used in others, but that's their very design, not a fault.

If SCOYCO just concentrated on added more thicker nylon material as the "riding jackets" out there in their jackets, it would be a kick ass proposition at 5k range, provided it's a genuine one.

I agree as when i saw the ls2 jackets, they did look alot like dsg nero but the price kept me away & after seeing prateek2210's review of Scoyo's JK17 & Urvashi Patole's review about Scoyo's jk 27 at The Near Perfect Riding Jacket: Scoyco JK-27, i think both Spartan & Scoyo are very good budget brands that give other brands like DSG,Cramster, A*, a run for their money. Too bad, Strangely enough i can't seem to find Scoyo dealers for jackets [rawadventure website is down & other link petrolheadz [http://www.shop.petroheadz.com/index.php?option=com_virtuemart&Itemid=80&vmcchk=1 &Itemid=80] dsnt seem right in some way..maybe bcoz i want to feel the jackets touch before i buy them]
