Anyone here using Spartan gloves for a while now?

I am looking to pickup a full gauntlet and short gloves? I don't know anyone who's picked up either of Ares/Pegasus/Phaeton gloves from Spartan.

My Cramster TRG2's are crying for a replacement after 3 years of everyday use.

Well, I have the Pegasus, was about to post a inital review of it and Hyperion after a initial ride of 300+kms in the scroching weather, hope this helps.

Gloves(Pegasus)

Short cuff gloves, would say perfect fro city rides, it did not take time to break -in , was almost easy to use from the first use itself, and set very well after about 10-20kms of useage. Flexing of fingers are quite easy and not a hinderence , since you have been using the tr2g for long time now, this will be too easy to use( i had the tr2g initially).
Nice ventilation, good air supply is maintained, even in the scroching heat, no sweating was experienced, had it on throughout the trip and it was really comfortable. As per my view, it will make an exceptional city useage gloves. Kudos to spartan team for a great product. Stitch quality and look and finish is great too.


Jacket(Hyperion)

This really surprised me, just soon after wearing the jacket and started riding, it was like someone turned on the AC, very cool air circulation within the jacket , it was just perfect, Perfect mesh jacket, Din't sweat in the hot conditions, but in heavy traffic or signals, I did start sweating slightly but it can be considered as negligable.
The armour stays in it's place perfectly and is not felt heavy or so, you will almost not feel the armour is there at all. Good padding for back and kidney area, a good add on.

Another thing I found interesting was that how easily I could walk around wearing it, din't feel bulky at all.

Once again, a great product from Spartan team.

You sure about the ventilation part?

Coz from the images I don't see any vents on the Ares and there's isnt any talk about ventilation on the product description as well. Well this holds true even for Pegasus.

In contrast to the TRG2 which I know has functioning vents, albeit with its crapster quality. But still! Even the DSG Primal has vents visible in the pictures and its given in the product description as well.

Now I know that vent's hardly work, but some vent is better than no vent at all right?

The ARES has some perforated areas for ventilation, while the PEGASUS has a huge vent integrated into the knuckle protection in addition to a few strategically placed vapour holes (they aren't perforations but rather single holes to help in sweat evaporation ) .

Follow the size chart measurement pic in the DSG website. In the page for revive gloves , they have a sizing chart. I ordered mine with refernce with that chart and its the right size for me.

Which one will be better among these?
Dsg Nero?? Or Dsg Triton? Or any other Racing Inspired ones.
Budget : 5k-6.5k.
Any other which are better than these too are appreciated in the list.

Since your options are Nero and Triton , I'm assuming your not looking for mesh jackets, but textile one's instead. Then I would suggest triton. Great jacket within Textile jackets. Be a little careful of the sizing though, it's a bit longer than the normal jackets.

Does anyone have a clue as to which store has the Daijya G-Fit Dragon (Blue) helmet in Mumbai? I have been trying and trying but to no avail. My experiences:

Outdoor Travel Gear: Doesn't have it in stock
A2Z Motorcycle Superstore: Has one but a little defective. The rubber mount near the mouth came off.
AH Helmets: Doesn't stock Daijya
Performance Racing store: Checked the website. Doesn't seem to house one.
Neither does ebay nor planetdsg...


Any other helmet I can opt for in sub 5000 range? Thinking of visiting AH Helmets (as they are the closest) and checking out an LS2.

Coming to Helmets, Planet Dsg has Nuvo Helmet for 5999 bucks.
A great one, better than Ls2, only if you can extend your budget up to 6k
Or else Ls2 is most sold, infact best vfm one, you can get Ls2 below 4k, as you live in mumbai, even below 3.5k i hope.

I was just thinking & had this query whether chest pads are worth it in commuter level jackets like DSG Aero or Spartan Icarus considering that they are already trying hard to keep the costs down & how can foam based chest protectors help as they could be cheaply produced & incorporated,considering our ribs are already one of the most protectors for our vital upper body organs

Not any Indian made jackets that i'm aware of come with up-gradable chest armor option. But the one that has this feature is the Alpinestar T-GP air jacket, which retails at 8.5k It has option for fitting the a* chest armor into the jacket. For the rest separate chest armor has to be worn, no other options. But then again if you get imported jackets, they have this option. Mesh jackets are not too famous or sought after in foreign countries. You can understand if you just search in the international forums. But we can't help it with the weather condition here.
