The Reason being hike in price of Octane, was Australian Dollar hike compare to INR in 2012... (as per Bachoo) but at 9k Jet Stream II is best buy according to me.

And there is Rjay's swift at 5.5k (~) too... Sometime I want some one to post a pics of Internal Paddings of DSG & Cramster too, And compare it with Rjay's. Nothing to say more. !!!
The Swift at 5.5K -6K is VFM,yes. But it pales in comparison to Spartan and DSG's newer models. The armour is not at par with them anymore. And regarding the pricing, yes,it's understandably expensive considering they are imported. The grouse I have is the lack of revision. My brother's Jetstream was a really nice jacket but comparing the Swift to it (allowing for the price difference), is a moot point since it is nowhere near it. The majority of the sales in Jackets would fall in the VFM category since most people here tend to inch towards affordability.

There you go, you answered it in an instant. To put in your words as you've described "Nothing to say more" (an in layman terms that's how they say to every customers)

Swift as you know is their least priced Arsenal in entire RJays Brand when it comes to armored jackets (don't mistake other items such as nylon suits etc) Now when I wore the Swift and the difference from my Octane to my All Season jacket was immediately apparent. I just didn't fell in love with Swift, sticked to Octane and it was a spot on fit. And after now parting off with my ex-RJ am currently on another RJ and still going strong for more than 3 years.

Baseline stuffs are always okay-ish, in any brand, not just RJays. Don't expect anything crazy from them. They are just to fit the bill. If you want more, it's obvious you need to shell out more.

      Cheers!

I finalised on the DSG Rage since I plan to wear the jacket daily on rides inside the city as well, and getting a good fit, armour and looks as well as keeping the weight low were priorities. So,choose the jacket based on your preferences. The Spartan does offer more goodies though.

As you've seen me say if you *like* Rjays then go for it, else I've always suggested the slight upper edge Spartan Helios offers. But all in it's a kick ass package that Spartan offers. Go for the one you suits you the best.

I've seen some of their photos in Facebook and it's a brand of OTRAS themselves. That said, I don't I've seen any review of them personally on this thread.

For the price you pay for Rampage and the price that the A* SMX2 Carbon there is helluva lot of difference it makes. But remember, both are pretty much textile stuff with and there isn't much leather to justify the price by A*. I'd suggest you look for something like DSG Revive or Nitro, still one of the best bang for the buck stuffs out there.

                      Cheers!

A short review of Spartan Odysseus pants (Black).

I had bought it last Saturday since I wanted it for the ride on sunday. Rode 700kms and these are the points I would like to highlight.

                        1. The pant is comfortable. The waist can be easily adjusted should you get fatter after buying it The knee guards fit can also be adjusted using straps and it stays firmly without any problems.

                        The adjustable straps before adjusting..

                        After adjusting..

Straps at knees.. (Pic from behind)

                        2. The vents do let the air in, once you are doing 30+kmph. It will also depend on the posture of the rider, if his thighs are facing front (because of rear set footpegs) then these vents do even better job.

The zipper based vents on thighs..

                        3. Initially, I had to keep checking if the Knox armour has slid down, since I could not feel it, but it was perfectly in position. It is that comfortable! Later on just assumed that it is still there and didnt bother checking

Pic of knox knee armour, you can notice that it covers the portions slightly below your knee too, so with full length boots, you get complete protection for the leg.

                        4. The additional extra dynatec layer added at seat is for extra abrasion resistance but I found it to be very comfy.

                        5. The pants are not at all flashy and one can easily go unnoticed at restaurants (Just close the vents or you will look like wearing torn pants!). This is the biggest plus point for me, I hate those jaw dropping stares from onlookers

                        6. It can be easily connected to my Spartan Hyperion, and it gives you a feeling of extra safety. (The attaching zipper is visible in the prev image)

                        7. The fit and finish is top notch. Cordura does mean business when it comes to abrasion resistance.

                        8. Had also tried it out in rain with the liner and my legs were fully dry inside. Had ridden for 30min in rain.

Overall, very happy with the buy. Would recommend this to anyone and for that price point, it is a real VFM product!

Thanks for the review Akash. Dont see any mention of hip protection. Usually there is hip and to some extend thigh protection foam in riding pants.,
