Then rinse it in water and dry in shade. Avoid scrubbing too hard, using hard detergents and wringing the jacket. In the end it will be as good as new

A shoe shampoo is a very strong detergent. Mild detergent is one used for clothes like washing machine powder. Soaking the garment in a detergent for one hour will break down the reflectives as they are not meant to be exposed to such harsh chemical treatment. Hot water is specifically not recommended since the hot water can break down the adhesives which are used in the stress point stitches. Brushing the garment with anything more than a clothes brush will cause micro-tears on the surface of the garment which will eventually lead to failure of the material.

I have posted the correct process of washing many times and so has Vijay. Most jackets also have a care label sewn into the inner lining. Please do read. Your improper method may not show damage now but will lead to shortened product life. Improper handling of the garment is the single most common reason for garment failure - and then the user blames the product!

Thanks for correcting me. Will follow the proper procedure now. My jacket frequently gets dirty so I was trying to make the work easier.. Also can you please help me choose a new pair of riding shoes. I've posted the details just a few posts back.

One query , the strap of the knee guard is reliable Knox bionic.. Because I have seen the alpinestar bionic straps get elongated after using it for some time and doesn't sit at right place.
Please give your short review of the Knox bionic.. It will be great help for me , I am planning to buy one next month.

I would suggest the S&S pair for college use. A simpler and cheaper solution would be to get a shift sock for your bike - Rs.1000/- at PRS, so that you can wear any shoes to college.

If you can provide a summary of the *army surplus* you've purchased and some snaps of it, that'd be great don't you think.

                        Hey all,

I am in search for a water-proof touring gloves. Budget around INR 3K. Could you please suggest some? I use Spartan Pegasus now for short rides and does its job well until it rains
                        How about Spartan Ares?

Buddy RJays Swift is a mesh jacket whereas the DSG Nero is a textile jacket (non mesh oven ).. So for the weather we ride in mesh makes more sense in terms of comfort..
Even DSG has mesh jackets that you can check and also there are Spartan jackets that you can consider..
