thanks to this thread i've been able to make informed and hopefully accurate decisions while buying my riding gear piecemeal. They took a long time for me to acquire, but it was worth it!
    My gear: LS2 FF350 helmet
    DSG Revive gloves
    cramster turtle tankbag
Helios mesh jacket with Knox protectors (managed to snap this up while enroute to Hyd. Wish i had known about the thermal liner while purchasing jacket, wouldn't have had to experience some really freezing early morning rides!!)

wearing gloves to office, leave alone jacket is making me look like an oddball and butt target of many jokes. slowly getting used to them and my determination to wear riding gear got stronger when i witnessed an accident yesterday when a bike rider was knocked down by a car. his helmet came off and nearly went under the wheel of the bike i was on as pillion rider. i was not wearing even a helmet at that time as my friend who was driving had zero gear on him and it was a question of looking odd as well as some sort of guilt also. thankfully, we managed to escape unscathed.

i am now on the lookout for knee protectors, although the crash guard of my bike has already saved my legs once. would prefer to get something which might go under jeans. Most of the protectors i found are fakes on ebay or mx type ones. Forcefield Armadillo knee guard seems to be good and also slightly affordable, but it might be difficult to select proper size. Please give some suggestions on proper knee guards which might preferably be available in india.

Im on a lookout for knee guards with protection(c.e or any other impact absorption material). All the fakes and even cramster are just plastic i believe. Budget is max 2-2.5k.

Looking at your budget specifically, you have no other choice than Cramster, locally made, at least it's genuine. Remember, contrary to most of the hoopla around knee guards, for our city rides and most commutes these knee guards are sufficient, I repeat sufficient, not top of the line protection, but sufficient to bring back one in one piece if he were to have a crash. That being said, instead of going for famously branded fakes in eBay, save some more and get Thor Sector or Alpinestars bionic knee guards.

Remember, when it comes to riding gear, it's obvious that our country's citizens give no heed to safety whatsover. What do you find in traffic? Chaos, no f***s given attitude. Yes, we can be rounded out as an oddball in traffic or elsewhere, but ultimately it's ones own protection over what others think.

One of the members here posted, I guess it was Sird, this guy happen to help fellow motorists who are knocked down etc, but when he had a fall, people did nothing buy to stare at him, and he swears he would still continue to help others no matter what, which is THE MUST HAVE attitude for a motorcyclist.

But the reason I am depicting a tale here is ATGATT, no matter what. Helmet, gloves, jacket, and knee guards.

Perhaps you can upload the KNOX armor photo from your system, if you intend to.

            Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
            The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

            • Is the thermal liner for the Spartan Helios available for purchase separately? Any place I can get it online?

Spartanprogear.com. But before you do that, do call their customer experience center for more info. Yes the thermal alone can be purchased instead of the rain liner for the same price, it's just additional as you take more liners.

How do DSG Nitro and revive compare with it as they also cost around the same?

I have used Revive, but I only happen to touch them and feel them for a minute as it was in a riders hand. I guess Nitro, and revive are more or less the same, but I would stick to Revive due to the fact that it has carbon fiber component to it, just to get that maximum bang for the buck.

                          Cheers!

I had already looked at their website. There was no mention of the thermal liner being sold separately. Have sent them an email but got an auto-reply saying that they were attending the IBW and would be out for a week.
