I would suggest RJays Swift from the above two. Also their is good discount on them at Bachoo Motors (in case you order it online from Mumbai).
However, do consider Spartan Helios as a third option. Its around 6,500/- but worth the extra price.

If I am not wrong DSG Maze (the mesh jacket) has been discontinued. I have that I think that for Indian weather, it's one of the best textile jacket.

            How about Spartan Ares?
DSG ACQUA, and Cramster, and RJAYS Tempest check Cramster website for more info. All gloves in Spartan are not waterproof. Though they are resistant to an extent, most leather gloves out there are not 100% waterproof.

Stick with RJAYS if you just have these two options.

But RJays Swift doesn't have CE Armour. Is it a deal breaker?

A shift sock sounds really good but what worries me is that it may get stolen. The s&s ones suit me the best but read in a review that the sole develops holes pretty fast. Is it easy for someone to take off the gear sock from the bike?

Sock is useless investment if you ask me Roll, but it does have its advantage, but it can be lost easily and worse stolen. It's nothing but a elssticized cotton.

Yes the fellow member quoted, the RJAYS armor are of course CE approved, but the back armor is foam as in most brands.

To sum it up in one sentence, RJAYS is good, Spartan is better.

Exactly what I feel. However rubber ones are also available. But they are no good if they can be stolen. Have posted a list of shoes a few posts back. Would you please have a look.

A shift sock is NOT made of "elasticised cotton". Its only called sock because it slips onto the gear lever like a sock? It is made of out of a high density silicone- rubber like material which once put onto your gear lever, will protect your shoes from the wear and tear of shifting gears. Simply use a rubber glue solution on the inside when sliding them on and it cannot be taken off. Many of my colleagues at work use it to protect their shoes.

There's one type made out of fabric too:sly:. However sticking the sock to the lever might work for me. Thanks for the help.

Sunny, I bought one when I was in Delhi for 50 bucks yellow one with the name NITRO on the sock, cheap and it shows.

It was basically tight elastic band like a woman's hairband except with a fancy name. Now I know costly ones are different and you're right made of plastic rubber but yet to see those.

                            Cheers!

Well there must be a huge difference between a woman's hair band priced at fifty bucks and a professional piece of kit that costs a thousand, don't you think?

                                Hello everyone!

I am planning to go for gear shopping within this week.
Just for info. I live in Navi Mumbai.

I already own a SOL MetalMan 68sII and DSG Carbon gloves.

I went through major part of the whole thread and have shortlisted the following.

                                Jacket:
                                (Budget upto 8k)

As I live in Mumbai, where the climate is generally hot and humid I'd like to go for a mesh jacket.
I liked the Spartan Helios as it comes with a rain liner and also KNOX armor.

As I was going through the thread I found that the quality of Rjays and JR is relatively better than Spartan.
How true is this? I would like the jacket to last for at least 2 years with weekly use.

                                Riding Boots:
                                (Budget upto 9k)

I have shortlisted Alpinestar's SMX1 and AXO Primato II.
Both of these are within my budget where the A* exceeds the AXO by around Rs.500.

As the A* SMX1 is a short riding boot, will it give the same level of protection if worn with knee guards
compared to AXO shoes with knee guards?
I am slightly inclined towards the A* as they're short while AXO are full length riding boots.(ease in movement while not riding)
Which one should I go for?
Also, I do understand that both of these are not waterproof but they wont get damaged if worn during
                                monsoons right?
Also to clarify, these pair of shoes will be worn only when going for a long ride ie around 7-8 days a month.
Any other options within my budget are welcome!

                                Thanks
                                -Rishab
