I am looking out for a few other options that come in the segment and price bracket as that of a Cramster Tundra. Please suggest. It will be so kind of you to put a brief reasoning about the durability and comfort of the product you vouch for.
Thanks

It is neither shiny nor slippery. It is our normal T-shirt cotton cloth. It is absorbing good amount of sweat. I even check the absorption by pouring water in the table and wiping with the balaclava. The absorption is really good. I know it is a fake but Ok with the performance.Originally posted by Sird View PostThat balaclava's stuff must be that shiny and slippery ?

. didya really do that? I mean, that's like cleaning the table..
If your claim is true then it's a good deal, considering it to be 'harley davison'; most other brands come expensive. Honestly, for a guy like me, it is difficult, money-wise, to buy ATG (all the gear) at the same time

Yeah I did the cleaning the table routine but only I cleaned the table with another cloth to remove all the dust and then did it with the balaclava.Originally posted by chaosaddict View PostWhoa

Believe me it is difficult for me also to get all the things at once. But I am planned this from the day I joined XBhp and I am increasing my inventory slowly to achieve ATGATT status. Now I am planning to import Alpine star jacket 5XL or 6XL from my cousin in Ausi.

Why don't you try importing, you'll get a better deal in A*, Joe Rocket etc. But a your price point I'd suggest you go for a perforated leather jacket or kind of an all weather mesh jacket.Originally posted by MAD BIKER View Posthi guys!I was thinking of buying a new jacket within 12k.Suggestions please

re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Personally if you ask me you're way better protected wearing a nylon glove over your riding glove for best winter/rain protection at it's best. Cramster TUNDRA like the RJays Tempest gloves and many other do offer only water resistance and not completely water proof as such. Provided these have more textile component, you get the benefit of little warmth and that's about it. But yes they offer no protection as such as a leather one, but they resist wind/trap the heat (warmth) and provide just the adequate protection.Originally posted by xpranav View Post@B7ACKTHORN ....... sir ji please provide your input on this
But rain, cold wind, I trust my leather every single time.

re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Surgical gloves will not survive the rough use of motorcycle grips and levers and will tear to shreds if worn over the armoured leather glove. They can be used over a thermal glove liner though and then worn INSIDE the riding glove to give you water and thermal insulation. The outer riding glove will get soaked though. So from inside to outside -Originally posted by TranquilRageI think this makes a LOT of sense. Where are they generally available? Cost? Guess even those surgical type rubber gloves can be bought from a medical shop...don't know the exact cost of that either, but should be cheaper than buying an water-resistant pair just for city riding in monsoons?
hand + thermal liner + surgical glove + riding glove. Your armoured glove needs to be a little loose though for this to work. I did this quite a a few years back riding in torrential rains in the hills and did not have waterproof gloves at that time.. Worked pretty well except that the leather glove got ruined in the rains. I have also tried household domestic rubber gloves - these slip on pretty easily over your motorcycle gloves and are waterproof - but the openings are very large and difficult to close around your wrist. You can use elastic bands but they cut off circulation, so I used tape. Royal pain in the a$$ to use though.
My simpler solution would be to carry a pair of cheap MX gloves along too. These are normally fabric based with minimal armour. The minimal armour should do since you will be riding pretty slowly in the rains, and the fabric dries quickly without getting spoilt. So when it rains , switch gloves and when the sun comes out again and you pick up speed, switch back to leathers and store the soaked MX gloves in a plastic bag.

Surgical gloves are compltetely useless either when worn on hand or over and it's not even feasible to do that. It's costly and it's 100% useless it's paper then, damp it wet with oil, it rips faster than a newspaper, which I is pathetic. But hey, that's just a simple latex glove.Originally posted by TranquilRageI think this makes a LOT of sense. Where are they generally available? Cost? In one trip, I used the orange thick rubber gloves these are sold in hardware stores, over my leather glove but it was superfluous for the weather I expected. Reason number one, it's really a hard rubber, provides good hand grip on throttle, and easy to remove, since they are one size fit all, but you can get bigger sizes too.
These orange gloves are used by construction workers
(I think it should ring bells for you right now) They cost 80 bucks and lasted for well over a year before they gave up, but way appreciable for a glove which provides excellent water proofing solution.
But just gave it up for the reason to put it each and every time, which is a real pain in the arse, but once these gloves sync with your leather outer, they are like moulded perfectly for them, and removing them is a tad harder, but in hot conditions it's real easy. In cold it just shrinks like a cenitipede.

re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
So Finally after a wait of 4 years, finally I got my Riding boots. Initially wanted to get the SMX-2. But then decided in favour of the SMX-5.
I was looking at the SIDI Cobra also but chose the SMX-5, because they were slightly cheaper and I could buy them off the shelf from Delhi which meant I could wear them and try the fit before buying which I think is very important. I got the shoes from Meandring India, Vasant kunj New Delhi. Price is 11,100 Rs.
Well I have ridden only about 20 Kms in the boot.
Initial Impressions:
1) Quality is top notch. They are made in Thailand.
2) Comfort while walking and standing is good. No issues.
3) Slightly tighter from Ankle area. They will loosen up as they break in.
4) Right now having issues with Braking and Gear changing. Would need to get used to them, plus they are very stiff right now hopefully will loosen up in a couple of rides..
