Re: DSG Primal Gloves
If you can source a little longer strips, I guess you can easily tie the bag on KTM's tank. Just try and see.Originally posted by Rony View Post

You are right, they are not selling the armors separately.. at least till now.
But I contacted and requested them to send me a set.. I had a small "project" planned for my DSG Maze. Got these new protectors
and replaced them on my Maze. Will post more about the complete details (have done a couple of more stuff on my Maze) along with photos in a few days.

re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Hi everyone. Need some help. But first a little something about me. At 52, I am almost a born again biker. Why almost ? Because though I always had bike, since 2001 I was not riding bikes regularly. At present I use Yamaha Ray & FZ-16 for city use and RE DS for long distance. Will take delivery of Ninja 650 by month end. I am 5'6 & 83 kgs.
Now, the query: I have arjay mesh jacket with armour & rain lining. I dont have any other protection like knee pads or spine guard etc. Nor do I have riding pant. I have arjay boots and RE gloves. Considering I would like to use N650 for touring, what other things I should go in for ? And what brand & model/make ? Budget is not extravagant. I am not a track rider nor do I ride too fast. I drive my car at max 160-170. Thanks in advance.

re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Wonderful Ravi.!! Thats a great adjustment, but time consuming i guess, i was thinking if there was some way to get it converted to backpack without having to mess with the base, and i got just what i wanted. I will be moving on to the rynox optimus soon.Originally posted by ravi@17bhp View PostA small review of Rynox Optimus M, Magnetic tankbag
Have been using Rynox Optimus M tank bag on my Karizma for the last 10 months. Its been part of many rides since I bought it and it served me excellent. Thought I would do a small review.
Pros:
- Large capacity (20L unexpanded, and 29L when expanded.)
- Excellent quality, built like a tank. The side walls of the bag are well padded to reinforce the strong build. (Cramster tank bag material looks flimsy after using this)
- Scratch-resistant magnetic base (does exactly what it says)
- Easy mounting and dismounting of magnetic base
- Bottom magnet makes the bag hug tightly to the tank. It doesn't move on tank unlike Cramster tank bag.
- Usability as Tail bag.
- Backpack convertibility (one of the best features that I liked). The linings of the backpack strips are well padded for comfortable backpack use.
- Transparent rain cover enables visibility of maps even when its raining.
Cons: (Specific to Karizma tank)
- As the bag is huge, the handle bars touch the bag when turned fully. To negate this problem I raised the handle bar position and move the tank bag towards rider side. Worked well for me. This problem is not there with R15V2 and CBR250R.
- As the Karizma's tank is down slope towards the rider seat, the low zipper opening line of the bag causes the items in the bag to fall when the zipper is opened. To negate this issue, I used the bag in reverse position. This is not of a big problem with flat tanks like R15 and CBR.
- The magnet at the base sits on the fuel cap (made of aluminium) on Karizma tank. Solved this problem when the bag is used in reverse position.
- In Cramster tank bag, there is a quick access compartment with Velcro opening, which was really useful in urgent situations. There is no quick access compartment in this Rynox tank bag. You have to open the zipper fully to access things.
- The carry strip to hold the bag with palm appears very thin. When the bag is full, I always feared to carry the bag using the strip. They could provide a stronger holder.
I have used Cramster tankbag for 5 years, and it was good. But, this Rynox tank bag is leaps ahead of it. I was able to overcome the negatives that I faced with this bag with small adjustments. The large holding capacity and the backpack convertibility are the best things of this bag. I would suggest this bag for anyone without any reservation.
I will post few pics later. Also, there is an easy way to convert the tankbag to backpack without completely removing the magnetic base. The following video shows this. Pleae bear with the amateur video.
Rony, i too would suggest get a few extra straps and try to mount it correctly on the duke. From what i hear from a friend who used the optimus suction cap model is that , it works pretty fine even t high speeds, he had it mounted on his NinjaOriginally posted by Rony View Post@ravi@17bhp ... Even I have been using it for a while now and served me well on my CBR250R long rides .... Now that I've sold that bike and awaiting Duke 390's delivery I am wondering if I can use this bag without magnets to mount on tank with those straps provided for tail bag functionality ... What say?
Kewl mate..!! Awaiting for pics and detailed analysis.Originally posted by payeng View PostYou are right, they are not selling the armors separately.. at least till now.

Krishna, it hardly takes 20 seconds to convert it to backpack if you follow the method that I have shown in the video, and I don't think thats time consumingOriginally posted by krish2778 View PostWonderful Ravi.!! . There is no need to unzip the magnetic base completely. Just leave the end of the zip and push the base into the pocket. I always carry this tank bag with my bike, because I can convert it to back pack and carry it hassle-free anywhere.

Lol. He is Sanjay. He doesn't want to be featured in the video with his beard and shorts; thats why he is denying. He is at Pathankot now riding towards Srinagar.Originally posted by krish2778 View PostHehe..yeah i got that from watching the videos..

Just flick the switch and twist my wrist
The beast comes alive, bringing me back to life
A tap to shift and flick of the wrist
The beast takes flight bringing me back to life
Kill the silence, tear apart the dark
The beast rips the road, hell yeah, i feel alive.
