I'm a responsible rider. It doesn't matter what you ride, but what matters is how you ride.

I doubt if these are real ones. Real ones are usually imported and costs a bomb. Maybe this is 1st or 2nd copy of the product.

Looks like A* Vapor. Revzilla prices it at $40, so 1100 is a bit doubtful for a genuine piece. I hope I'm wrong though.
Got a $5 head? Get a $5 helmet.

When did you travel? I mean did you get all this from kochi? genxt was also planning to shop. How much did you pay for them?
Cleaning is not much of an issue. I dust it once in a while after long rides, keep it in the sun with the liners off. You'll get used to it.

Most gloves, when drenched 100% do give off some dye, but these aren't mainly dye, but they are the protective coating intended to keep them shiny and when they dissolve, they somehow end up dyeing your hand , but it shouldn't happen always. If you have such issues you can return them back to the dealers, but that's when the glove is drenched beyond it's design characteristics, just so you get the point.

Sorry to break your bubble, but this is a genuine 100% fake product. And the fact that the shop keeper had to keep you waiting for a 2 weeks only exaggerates the point. A* cheapest resold in India is the Vapor at 3400 bucks. But for this one, you could have got the Spartan ProGear's Perseus knee pads, very impressive build quality and good armor. But you didn't ask, so enjoy your Alpinestars.

I had foggign issues on both the visor and my specs on wearing a balaclava, exaggerated especially when on stop traffic, but once on the move you're all set. But I'd recommend not wearing specs, unless you have to as a must for primary vision.

Nice one but, you gave it the final thouch "India via friends/relatives" I really think paying a little premium and getting the stuffs here is a good idea, but before that to do the right research and not pay way too much exorbitant prices, even if buying in India. But given the chance I'd love to get stuffs from abroad, but only guys there come now. They've never been here for more than 2 years, my bloody friends. Sigh!

Cheers!

well, actually I was thinking of buying a k/n air filter for my Duke, plus knee/shin guards and some other random stuff of which the prices here are just double easy or are unavailable.importing them myself just negates the savings.eg:the model specific filter costs close to 2k in the states but here its 5k.the only thing I'm not sure of purchasing are jackets since fit seems to be important.also an issue would be replacing them in case of improper fit.otherwise I see good options around the 130$ range for which at present none exist in India(there was even a full leather armored one at this price!).I just happen to be lucky that my friend is there for the time being and comes back once or twice in a year.

Absolutely. Lots of good deals on leather goods, especially AGV branded close outs and next up is helmets, very good deals on helmets too in the <= 150 range. But India will surely see biking brands popping in as times goes on. I wonder if someone opens a mall just dedicated to bikes, gears and everything nice. Or perhaps I am too optimistic.
