@febinjoy How do you think evo will do against icarus?
I am about to go and buy the Helios this weekend and when you said that this gives Helios level protection at lower price, I just wanted a comparison because Helios/Icarus do not have the denier count mentioned anywhere.

My requirement : Good ventilation for Summer..

        Hi,

Helios is a wonderful Jacket, I was on a budget and was about to get a Breezer 4S(Comes with a thermal Liner and a CE rated back protector) when I saw Evo.
Evo comes with 600D Cordura at impact areas. It has got a light padding beneath the cordura in impact areas which would take some damage.
The elbow and shoulder armors are both CE rated. The Back Protector of Helios and Icarus are dual density(though non CE rated) which is far better than that of Evo's.

Helios comes with lot of extra features like Internal micro-fibre pocket for sun-glasses, silicone port for ear-phones, Internal key-clip, External clip for gloves, Removable and washable microfibre collar liner etc. Icarus also comes with Internal micro-fibre pocket for sun-glasses. The thermal liner is missing in both Icarus and Helios.

Evo's ventilation is pretty decent. It is actually a replica of Tour Master Intake Air 3 (Tour Master Intake Air 3 Jacket - RevZilla) with some internal pockets missing.
        Ride Safe...

        Cheers...

Thanks mate.. was just thinking, what if I just add a CE rated armour to the back for Evo? 5000+1500 = 6500 (almost the same as Helios).

          Your opinion please..

Yeah... you are right.. 2 things worth considering is the fit and weight of the Jackets. I am on the heavier side(6ft tall, 100kg) and Evo felt comfortable for me. It would be better to try it at the store and decide on the fit.

I am not sure of the weight difference between Helios and Evo. Evo felt slightly heavier than Breezer 4S.

I have plans to hit Ladakh and thermal liner would be an added advantage for me. If you are not keen on the thermal liner, Helios would also be fine(You get few pockets and clips extra).

Helios comes with just a foam pad for the back. Helios + CE rated back armor = 6800 + 2000 = 8800

I'm 5'11" and weigh 80kg.. the only need for me to wear the jacket is for protection.. a pocket or two is great.. other than that, I don't use the jacket for anything else.. and since Evo has good air flow, I'll pick it up, up the back armour.. (I'll miss the chest armour but airflow is a trade off)

Yup.. CE armour is better than double foam I guess..

My only concern is that DSG says 600D as the denier count but Spartans got nothing.. that makes me wonder the capability of the jacket..

I think that icarus back armour cannot be upgraded.. if it can, that will mean some serious competition..

can anyone please confirm the back armor of icarus?

                Tapped from my HTC.

Finally i decided for full gauntlet gloves and shortlisted dsg primal and trg2 (under my budget of 3k) spg ares was out of the bugdet..
And today for some reason i wasnt being able to access spg's site neither planet dsg
                  So went ahead with cramster
One more wired thing cramster's web shop charge 200 bucks as shipping charges on the other hand adventure18 shipped it for free and price was same on both site (2600rs)

I use JK17, being textile jacket and doesnt have any liners. Its budget jacket but have to compromise on many factors. Cramster and dsg have better options now. Damn I need new gears now.
