Hello friends, I have a question to ask:
One of my friends is coming from USA next month, so is it better to get a riding jacket and good riding gloves through him or I can get the same quality here at cheaper price? What are your suggestions?

Also are there some specific accessories for bike which are available there and not here. My ride- P 200ns.

      Thank you in advance.

If you are restricted due to budget, wait a few months, save up and go for a full leather glove.
        Which brand would be ideal?

Probiker GPB Leather Motorcycle Riding Gloves (Red, X-Large) by Probiker http://www.amazon.in/dp/B00QLFX5E6/r..._GZ25ub08ZQB9Y

I have never used gloves while riding so I'm very hesitant to spend too much as of now. Will the above mentioned item be a good pick to start? Budget is not more than Rs 400/-

Good to know you are planning to use gloves. The pro biker gloves are good for city use and weekend ride for me the provide a decent comfort. But dont buy it from online they quote very high. If you can bargain you can get it for 300 bucks.

And do consider buying a good jacket.

          Good luck..ride safe.

            hello guys!
i am looking at buying gloves with gel inserts to reduce vibrations.
i ride a rc390 and when i tour up the hills i stay in 3rd gear all throughout. so there are vibrations which are felt after like half an hour.
            any pointers?

No! Don't do this to yourself. In case of a touch down, not only will the gloves not save you but also might add to your injury. The knuckles are perfect for breaking and going through your skin. The nylon will melt in case of a touch down at any decent speeds. I would suggest the latest TBG leather glove with the sliders. They are priced around 3K. Scoyo and Studds too make gloves which are better than those pro biker lot and retail around 600-700. I would suggest the TBG. You ride with a glove for a week and then you won't go back to bare hands for sure for the sure comfort of the ride.

Great idea. Please do get. I suggest closeout deals from revzilla or jafrum. Get a good all weather jacket from them. gloves from the same guys as well.
I can vouch for the Scorpion SGS gloves. EPIC levels of value for money (Made in pakistan though :P ).

                      1. Good places in Bangalore to buy good quality economical gear (helmets, gloves, elbow, knee guards, jacket/lowers). Could you guys please direct me to some bang for the buck, but long lasting gear since I'm just starting off on biking. I'm looking for function over vanity, so I don't care if the shit looks unglamorous, so long as it saves my life. I'm sure this information is out there on this thread, but the thread is too gargantuan for me to be able to glean out the best info.

                      2. What is the smartest thing to buy if my purpose is getting only the minimum amounts of cheap, convenient and non-flashy to wear and remove stuff.

I'll primarily be traveling in Bangalore, commuting to and fro work and then the occasional weekend trips outside.

No, not right now, I believe there are pants that have leather at the impact areas to strengthen that particular area.

I don't think there is a single place where every thing is available at the lowest cost.
MT has well certified (DOT + ECE) for around 3-4K I believe
Scoyo/Studds have gloves for around 700-800. TBG would be slightly higher up at 3K but comes with leather and very good protection.
Elbow - A jacket with CE rated armour should cover for this. Maybe the new DSG one that retails at 4K
Check out Motostore. They have THOR sector knee guards for around 1.5K. CE certified and well priced. Great quality. The store is near RT Nagar police station. Check their FB page for more details.
Lowers - The Adonis jeans is a good option from SPG but I doubt there is a decent riding pants that is affordable too.

Quick question for all, What do you guys use to protect the knees while commuting through everyday traffic, city and/or highway riding. I do use a well padded jacket, full leather gloves and helmet for everyday riding, but nothing for the knees as of now.
