In the order of whatever you can afford; riding with some cheap gears is better than not riding with any gears

Yes, I too have the AXO elbow guards lying around since my riding jacket has elbow padding. Will try out your technique tomorrow while going to office.

Quick question, does the riding pants have any knee padding?? Asking since I don't own a pair of riding pants yet.

So, what you do when you are bored in office. ? Write a quick review about your one month old gloves.
Actually I went to but the Spartan Ares full gauntlet gloves, but upon wearing it and trying it on my jacket, they seemed pretty bulky.
.
So instead I opted for the Spartan Centaur, which are full leather, half gauntlet gloves.
I have been using them for a month now and haven't really had any issues with it.
I didn't get any chance of wearing it for more than 40 minutes at a time since I use them mostly for commuting.
The Velcro strap is the best looking part of the gloves IMHO. And there is no branding anywhere on the gloves other than the Spartan logo on the side.

The only problem I have had is while spirited riding, the right palm pains quite a bit just below the thumb.

Otherwise the gloves are very comfortable to wear and very soft from inside with ample ventilation all round.
All in all a very good purchase and a worry upgrade from the crappy "Pro-Biker" gloves.
I had to pay ₹2950 for the pair at Moto 101, Pune.

@aargee,tbg hav launched a new jacket ..haven't you checked it out yet?sounds good for the price.

And does anyone have experience with track breed gear(tbg) after-sales service?I'm also looking into their boots. the short ones.btw the gloves have a crash return policy

https://fbcdn-sphotos-a-a.akamaihd.n...g=eyJpIjoiYiJ9
i have booked that ADVBreed jacket. priced perfect and is bang for buck. it has sastec armours, rain jacket and thermal liner. fits perfect. not good for the people with pot belly. worth the upgrade from my dgs nero. they have pretty good after sales service. 7250/- for pre booking, i guess today or tomo is the last date for it. MRP is arnd 7.8k i guess. i loved the back protector will be getting the jacket in next 2 or 3 days. will give review properly after testing it for few more days.

The boots are good enough for the city ride. for my skinny leg its a little big but it blends in with jeans well to make it wear anywhere but this is not for track. they have knee length boots for track. i have worm them but not ridden with it. so thats the only experience i have with them. sukesh has tested them in city for few weeks. he said its made for daily use with better protection than the usual boots we have. its obviously a little heavier than the normal boots we wear due to the materials.

have checked that crash return policy. but it should be really in a non usable condition

If you are going to be a track fanatic better get a good one piece suit. TBG has one I think. Don't go for cheap suits. It will not have the quality. If you have the cash you can check out Dainese, A*, Spyke or other brands. There is an AGVSport one for around 35k online. Check planetdsg.com

• Help Needed in Buying RIDING PANTS !!

Hello Everyone,
Im preparing for 'THE RIDE' in June. I'm an avid biker and I tend to go on weekend drives every other month.
I have all other Riding Gear except for a good Riding Pant. I have read many blogs from many people; and it only pushed me into a new depth of confusion.
I now have my hopes pinned on you people and hope that you will help me to clear the confusion. My queries as below:

1) I want a pant which is waterproof / water resistant.
2) It should be comfortable to wear for long rides.
3) It should not make me sweat in summers.
4) Armour protections should be reliable .
5) It should not be too expensive.
6) I'm confused between DSG NERO , CRAMSTER VELOCITY 2.0 , SPARTAN ODYSSEUS.

Please ...please...please help me in deciding based on your experience / comments/ stories overheard / blogs.

Your items 1 & 3 are contradictory. If you want a proper waterproof pants, they have to be seam sealed and taped, which means they will be like a sauna during summer.

• Value for money gear

Hi people... Cash-strapped college student buying a bike with own money. Did a lot of research before selecting the bike (gixxer) but the search for gear is turning out to be a lot tougher given that i'm spending all my money on the bike. Hence, need some advice regarding functional, budget gear. I've budgeted 2k for the helmet and 1k for gloves. Is that going to be enough? What other gear is do I absolutely need and whats the minimum i need to spend to keep safe riding around delhi?
Also good shops around delhi for all this stuff... Buying online is not an option for anything that needs fitting (I'm oddly shaped)
I realise the answers to these questions may already be there on this thread, but its gotten a thousand pages long and awfully difficult to search through. Also most people seem to be talking about stuff WAYY outside my budget. Would much appreciate the advice...

Like my good friend, trustvishwas Ji says...

"if you want to travel from point A to point B and always stay completely dry, you should buy a car.
If you ride a bike in the pouring rain for long enough or hard enough, you will eventually get wet….whatever expensive raingear you wear.

Water runs off your helmet and down your neck. It will be thrown up from the road and up your jacket. It will hit your gloves and enter the sleeve. Or rise up your boot to your leg. It will find its way through zips and pockets"

I value the above words as I've realized it through my experience & these are not mere words coming out of just any rider, but from someone who's wise & has undergone intense experience & has learned his lessons.

Coming back to your question, having made it clear that no matter what you buy, you cannot withstand the nature...DSG products are always known for being hot no matter even if its a mesh jacket, Spartan has always been providing super value for money products & Crapster is something not good on my books, so no comments. The padding & armors are pretty much the same in almost all the products. You may even want to consider RJays which make good riding pants (water proof ones).

2K for helmet you've Studds, Vega, not sure even if the fake LS2 will fall into the budget. 1K for gloves will be short gloves, not the gauntlet ones. You can head to Karolbagh market to buy all the fake products OR beg your Parents to give some more money, make them understand this money you're going to spend on riding gears will help them with their peace of mind as well & all the more, if you can spend about 80K for a motorcycle, you can certainly spend another 8-10 K (10%) to the person riding it to stay safe

Ok, some begging seems to be in order. Say I can weasel out about 8k.... Now what do I buy? Also, didn't mention here, but looks are of no concern to me. Only safety and comfort. So fake stuff is out....

First a good helmet > gloves > riding jacket > knee guards. Also, wear shoes every time you ride.

Since you can get ₹8k at present, get Studds shifter (₹1600), gloves from SPG or Rynox (₹2k) and SPG Atlas/iracus Jacket (₹4.5k) [this is what i use myself]
Else get MT/LS2 helmet for around 4k, and leather gloves, and save some more and get jacket in a couple of months.

Ride safe and have fun.
Regards

got my TBG ADVBreed jacket yesterday
I had ordered M size. after i wore it with thermals i felt uncomfortable at shoulders and it was tight. so took the L and it fits just right with and without thermals.

first impressions:
1. good fit. way way way better than the DSG nero.
2. rode at night to home yest and today morning to office. it kept me cool both the times. was expecting it to be a little chill due to the different mesh from nero. but it was fine. sweating has reduced a lot during day ride.
3. armours are top notch and proper fit. very impressed with back protector. its sas-tech. getting these at that 7.2k was a steal.
4. i tried the rain jacket. it actually fits right behind the jacket in the small pouch. the jacket is very thin. first question was is it reliable. sapna said its an international brand (forgot the name :P ) and its tough. wil take that word as of now and test in rains. it could have been and 2 inch more longer in height
5. i felt pockets were a little smaller compared to the dsg i had (abt a inch maybe). my phone (note2) fits just right.
6. one of the biggest neg thing is that the zip pull tabs are small and does not have a extension to it. make sit difficult to open and close with gloves on. dsg has a small cloth extension due to which its easier to open and close.
7. the pouch at the back is multi-purpose. can fit in few things there along with rain jacket. just wish it were with zip rather than Velcro.

its way worth the price. The jacket is sure a looker be ready for few glances from people

will post pics soon.

I would suggest you to narrow down your requirements using the following...
Spartan ProGear | Home Page

RJays is on little expensive side, so I'm not suggesting it for you here.
