    Hey bullet
Protective jackets from royal Enfield are nice but they hardly have any protection and they are very costly too.

You can buy some good jackets from cramster, dsg Vega etc at much cheaper rates and are very good interms of protection. all are of 5k range

    Happy riding

Thanks, I actually checked out RE Protective gear today, the jackets had shoulder, elbow & back guards. Now what I dont know is that is the protective gear adequate or lacking w.r.t. others like cramster, dsg, etc. The prices were also ~7k.

I could have easily picked up stuff from the brands quoted by you but for their un-availability locally. Only option is online purchase, about which Im a bit skeptical due to variations in sizes. Also not aware of return/exchange policies of the sites selling protective gear in India.

Looks cool. But you will have to be careful with the elastic near the wrist part. It may stretch to an extent and become loose. Take care of that

Full gauntlet is not recommended for daily use. It takes time to wear them, plus most of them will be too sweaty as they are leather. Have a look at semi gauntlet ones, will fall in that budget too.

                                Hello All
I wish to buy a riding jacket. I am 5'7" and have a medium build. I will ride 95% within the crowded streets of Bangalore. Once or twice a year, if at all, I may go out on long trips.

The jacket that I will end up buying will need to protect me from rain, cold and yet be breathable. I will wear dress shirts that cannot get damp from sweat. Easy washability is another priority. I will need protection pads. I have heard not too many positive things about DSG; so for about Rs 6000, I think my realistic choices are between Cramster Breezer 4S & Rynox Tornado or Asphalt.

Since I have not heard too many people vouch for Cramster (it also looks dowdy) and the Rynox doesn't look good (I am not too keen on having Rynox displayed across my butt), what other good-quality options do I have ? The Aspida jackets seem slightly expensive for what they are worth and I don't want to go through the disappointment @febinjoy has faced with the DSG Evo.

The Rjays Swift which sells at 6000 on Bachoo's website doesn't have thermal liner and has 500-grade protectors. Apart from these lack of features, has any one faced issues with build quality ?

Thanks in advance for all responses; this is going to be my first riding jacket.

P.S : I will be going to Let's Gear Up at HSR in the next 2-4 days.
