Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
I am using cramster breezer 4s. I find it to be good and confortabke. Its got 2 inner layer, rain liner and thermal liner. I am using it for my daily commute as well and find it to be useful. I also checked the zeus all terrain jacket before buying this. However i liked the breezer 4s as it looked to be better to me (this is my personal opinion, others may differ). Hope this helps.Originally posted by rahlp View PostHello people..
I am looking to buy a riding jacket.. budget 6k (may extend upto 7)
For now i have narrowed down to 3 jackets..
1) Cramster Breezer 4S
2) Rynox Tornado Pro
3) Zeus All Terrain Jacket (is it fine for summers?)
Help me choose one? Any other suggestions are welcome.
Thanks

Review of Mototech Contour riding jacket.
1) Size and fit Material Armour: The best part of the jacket. Has SASTEC armour which is soft, malleable ,unrestrictive and washable but as soon as it get struck with some force a molecular rearrangement makes it rock hard thereby protecting our body parts from impact. Back protector is just a foam ,I would recommend to get it replaced by CE certified armour.
4) Useability
A) the fit around the underarms. The sleeves dig into your underarms (armpit to be precise) , which can be uncomfortable for some. Going one size up will not solve this problem. I have 2 jackets S and M, both have the same problem.
B) Fit around waist has limited adjustment.
C) The flap running down the centre of the jacket is very thick and can dig into your neck if your jacket is slightly loose which can be very distracting. So getting the right size is absolutely critical. This is not so much of a problem for bikes with upright sitting position but in bikes where you have to crouch down it can be very distracting.
D) Non availability of atleast one waterproof pocket to keep our electronic gadgets safe.
E) Absence of belt loops at the back. In crouched down position, the jacket rides up exposing the back. This can be prevented if the jackets had loops which can go around the belt of the trouser thereby preventing the riding up of the jacket.
F) Being cotton requires frequent washes every 4th day in my case. NOTE : PLZ follow the washing instructions.
Conclusion: Overall a great jacket for the price but has some flaws as well. I would give it a three and a half out of five.value for money." if WRONG is a T-shirt ; then wearing it inside out doesn't make it RIGHT "

Tornado pro is a good jacket...one of my friend uses that jacket, it has waterproof pockets. Good quality, just i feel the mesh holes are small compared to my helios.

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Hey there, The jacket looks cool I have bought the red color one. it is a mix of mesh and fabric with the front facing portion is of mesh.Originally posted by rahlp View Post

Its got CE Level 1 approved armor on shoulders, elbows and back (not lower back). It is also got YKK zipper, adjustable waist and reflective lines in front and back.
Also 2 inner layer, One is a thermal liner which i don't use, as i live in south India and its pretty hot here.
There is a rain liner, which i have not removed yet. I've not the jacket in heavy rain, however in normal rain it seems to do a good job.
I have not got wet inside. And the pockets are water resistant (not sure if it is water proof).
Thanks

Re: Suggesstion about sidi st air boots
When you say you are starting your racing career means you are already in it. If you are in it for ex. You have met the racing clubs or institute they might have already explained the riding gears. And if you haven't approach any one then I would say there multiple options for your riding gears and shoes which ain't that expensive.Originally posted by Pankaj14 View PostHii frnds could u please help me in getting reviews for sidi st air racing boots?? Is it really worth for 26k

For ex. Alpinestar's shoes, Puma riding shoes etc.
I hope you are starting it with a quarter liter class so these boots are sufficient.
Additionally, SBK riders in India are also wearing these boots."Riding By Passion, Wandering By Choice !!" - IceAgeOnWheels

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Can someone recommend me a good pair of gloves within the 2.5k range? I'm willing to stretch upto 3k if it's worth it but cannot go any further due to budget constraints.
After careful thought about my riding routine, my preference would be the full-gauntlet type, however all suggestions are welcome.
I live in Mumbai (Thane, to be more specific) and generally ride to office and back. Never got a chance to tour yet, but as soon as I do, I'll be off in a giffy. :P Anyway, back to the important details - I do not intend to ride much in the rain and hence, am in no need of waterproof gloves, but a decent (read 'tolerable') balance of ventilation in the summer and shielding from cold winds in the winter would be desired. It may be noted that most of my riding would be in the winters. I generally don't ride for over an hour (it doesn't take that long to get to office) but yes, I do cover a good stretch of highways in the process, hence the full-gauntlet preference.
Please do enlighten me as to what options I should consider, as I've stormed the internet and come across a lot of gloves from DSG, SPG, Cramster and Rynox, and I'm completely confused. Do let me know about the Pros and Cons of the pair you suggest. Thanks!
