      Hi friends,

I am looking to buy a riding jacket for my wife.
      She rides 99% as pillion.

I live in bangalore and would definitely want her to try it on before buying.

Leather is good, Mesh is doable.

I looked at Dainese in Orion mall and they quoted 40k. I did not know whether to faint or scream.

My poor DSG with CE protectors was 7k in 2008.

Internet is ruled out because I don't want her to take a chance with fitting.

      Any suggestions? ??

      Regards,

          Hi everyone,
After a good amount of waiting and saving up, I have decided to pick any of the following jackets for my official commutes which involve 40% City & 60% Highway usage :-
          1) Rynox Tornado Pro with Knox Armour
          2) Rynox Asphalt
          3) Solace Defender with Sas-Tec armour
          4) Aspida Helios
          5) Solace Sprint
          6) Aspida Icarus

My requirements, apart from good protection, are mainly the best possible ventilation to combat summertime rides in Mumbai climate, and a good rain liner for the rainy days!
I already own a DSG Triton so it doesn't quite matter if the jacket has a Thermal liner.
I'm really confused between the above models. Please point me in the right direction. I will be checking them out in person, obviously, however, your experience would definitely help me make the right choice. I have already gone through a lot of the reviews/posts regarding these jackets in this thread and am even more confused now! :P

TBG Jacket is one of the top contenders here. Please do consider that. Personally checked it out, quality seems to be on par with the Rynox Tornado Pro. Though the CF shoulder protections look really good.

Coming to the Helios, it's a heavy jacket and the rain liner is not that good according to the customers. Please do check the protection ratings, they do matter a lot.
            Cheers

Thanks a lot for your recommendations. However a key point I probably forgot to mention here is that I have just upgraded my budget from 6k to 7.5k and I'd love to opt for the TBG jacket, but with shipping, I'm guessing it will be completely out of my budget at that price. I've also read somewhere that their rain liner isn't that good, so I'm not too confident making that purchase.
Plus, I'd prefer to try out the jackets in person to be able to ensure the best fit as I have already goofed up a bit last year ordering the Triton online!

I have bought these Tundra gloves during my Leh ride last year and they dint protect me that well from the cold. It doesn't even do well under heavy rains.

I don't recommend this product at all.

Thanks for the reply mate. I am not sure of the cold in Leh, however I was talking about the cold in Bangalore. And Yes during one of the heavy rains in Bangalore it kept my hand dry. I kust shared my thoughts and opinion. Yes there are other brand with better quality with morr cost added to it. I believe for 2K, this gloves is worth.

Thank you one again for sharing your opinion.
