Which helmet are you asking about? The SOL SL68S or the HJC CL ST?
The SOL is about 5.5-6.5k online, can be cheaper on some websites or in stores, the HJC is a bit more expensive. Deathwing owns them both and I'm quoting his opinion on these two helmets.

HJC CL ST is like 7-8k online, but it is sold out on most the websites I have seen. Check out some stores near you, might get it somewhat cheaper.

Where are you getting these? I want to invest in a boot for my city commutes and short casual rides too.

I am planning to buy my first riding gear and I have the following confusion . Could someone enlighten me on these. My budget is around 7-8k INR for now.

                  1) I see Riding Jackets like the Rynox Air GT and I see individual protectors like the Elbow / Spine and Chest protectors. Which is better to consider in terms of maximum protection? Buying a Jacket or buying protectors separately to be attached over regular clothing (t-shirt/ shirt)?

                  2) If Riding Jackets are considered, is it feasible to wear them during hot and humid Indian summers?

                  3) What do people generally do when they are headed somewhere and the riding gear (i.e. the Riding Boots/ motorcycle pants ; the rest can be taken off I guess) are not exactly suited for the destined occasion ; like meeting somebody, a party, formal occasions, going at a relatives. Do you just keep it on? Or the restroom is your 1st destination ?

                  4) What about pelvic protection?

                  * I see a lot of full body 1 piece race suit, even though they are mostly suited for track focused purposes. Same question as 3), in case they happen provide any additional protection over regular Jackets / individual protectors.

I would be doing both city commutes and highway rides.

                  - P.S. I skipped the helmet cause I already got a Studds Ninja 3G.

You have pretty valid questions as to what to do when you can't carry them or when you are invited for a special occasion et cetera. Individual protectors or jackets with protectors both have to be carried separately in this case, so either way it's something one has to figure out themselves. Rest room or mezzanine depends on the urgency

Secondly, w.r.t to external armors versus internal armors as such, jackets are more preferrable. Armors which come inside the jacket are soft and foam type armors which take the body shape pretty well. External armors are mostly plasticisized, though they feel solid on the outside, it can be a bit cumbersome when you intend to carry them, which coincides to your 3rd point. A jacket is easily mendable even with armors installed, an external plasticized armor isn't.

Most textile jackets are mesh in the front to allow airflow during summer times. These same jackets come with liners (fleeced and nylon) which can be used inside a jacket depending upon the weather conditions. You install a fleece when it's cold, and you install the nylon liner when it's rainy, so you have three in one use for a single jacket. When selecting a jacket, make sure also depending on your need, the jacket has maximum ventilation -- more mesh panels in the front mean more airflow in summer.

                    Cheers!

Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
                    The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

Jacket, any given day, the added layer of cloth/textile helps us save from road rash

                        2) If Riding Jackets are considered, is it feasible to wear them during hot and humid Indian summers?
They come in mesh textile which is good for Indian summers (with optional rain/thermal liner). few drops of sweat is way better than few bottles of blood

I come to office with my jacket and glove and keep them besides me. I dont think anyone would say no to someone who is careful about his own safety. If in a party, while entering I get my gears off and keep it safely somewhere.

                        4) What about pelvic protection?
Their are after market guards too.

One piece are 90% leather and are pure track oriented. Yes they provide better protection but daily use is something that is questionable.

                        - P.S. I skipped the helmet cause I already got a Studds Ninja 3G.
                        Get a better helmet please

You mean buy new one and then throw this away right

I too have a Studds Ninja, I wont say its useless. Its better to have this than other sub-standard/old/scratched helmets or worse helmetless/helmets with retention straps flying outside the helmets like many are wearing it.

I have been eying on MT Atom for some time. Issue is I have said the price to my better half, so waiting for her to forget that, else need to bribe her(read a gift) to own the Atom sooner

I too wear my Helios jacket to office everyday, Sweat is something which is part of our climatic conditions. I tried to minimize the sweat that by tying the backpack to the bike like tail bag, but still i sweat where the back protector touches the body.

Have you(or anyone else) tried/followed any method to avoid this sweating or at the least how to handle this sweat and the after effects of sweats like smells etc..

My jacket is close to 2 years old, and i have washed it already like 4 to 5 times. I fear that it might be damaged more due to frequent washing than the usual wear and tear.

All your problems will be solved if you get a leather jacket with internal protectors. Leather jacket is trendy enough to anywhere. Unfortunately your budget needs a good pat for that.

I have one mesh jacket for summers and one textile for winters. I have 25km one side commute which takes me around 40-50minutes everyday. I generally dont sweat that much as I keep all the vents open and try to wear loose shirt/tee underneath.

Thank you all for clearing my doubt . I guess I will just go with a mesh jacket and get a pair of knee guards. As for everyone who were generous enough to point me of the shortcomings of my Studds Ninja 3G Helmet (Studds Ninja 3G Economy Full Face Helmet (Matt Black, L): Amazon.in: Car & Motorbike is the one btw), I need a few suggestions . I got the Ninja because I was clueless. The showroom people provided me with this so called "ISI Certified" helmet for gratis (I guess those 500 bucks cheap plastic ones, which was no different than riding without a helmet). Would use this for the pillion in short distances I guess. I need something that provides better protection, probably DOT or ECE certified (if protection was in question here). I am not much into styling and fancy colours. Something that is probably flip up similar to the Ninja which flips up into a half face (easier to stop and talk to people).
