[Riding Gear] Need some suggestions for riding gear.
I have a budget of ₹50000, I am looking to buy three things:
Helmet: The helmet must be round, and shouldn't have any fancy design (or off road design) that may get caught during a crash and end up twisting my neck. My size is 580 mm. Helmet should be lightweight, and should have european certification. Full face helmets only.
Riding Jacket: I live in kolkata and it can be very hot and humid here during the summer, so a full leather jacket is absolutely out of the question. Looking for a mesh jacket that has protective padding for my elbows, shoulders, back and front. Should be comfortable to wear over long rides. i am a 6 feet man with a lean body.
Abrasion resistant pants/jeans: I already have a shin/knee guard so I am looking for a pant/jeans that doesnt look like it was made for racing, looks pretty normal and I can wear outside but is also abrasion resistant (like kevlar jeans or something?). My waist is 33 inches. One without a knee pad would be appreciated (removable design works too).
I am more of a tourer guy so keep in mind that I will be wearing these gears for long time on ends and that they should be comfortable. Also I live in kolkata so its pretty hot here, I wouldn't want anything designed with a cold weather in mind.
Any links to online product that ships to kolkata, is appreciated or any shop in kolkata that sells the kind of gear I need would be appreciated.
Thanks in advance, looking forward to the replies

Helmet - Bell Vortex or Scorpion EXO r420/710.
Check scorpion 710. It has EPS even on the chin, and oh you will love the elliptec visor mechanism. Also the helmet is ECE and SNELL 2015 rated. (Not that SNELL matters a lot, but again, just telling)
Riding jacket - Check Rev'it and Shima. Shima Xmesh is a nice summer jacket but does not have chest protectors.
Pants/Jeans - I would recommend ScorpionEXO / Rev'it for riding pants. If not, Bikeratti sells a riding jeans with level 2 knee armour and level 1 hip armour with kevlar inner for around 9000. Ask for the level 2 jeans, there is a level 1 available too that retails at 7-8k. Why Bikeratti ? The armour is D3o, viscoelastic and comfortable, need not say more. The material is very high quality too.
Since you asked for one without a knee pad, the knee protector is ofcourse removable. But if your concern is comfort, nothing beats D3o and Sastec. (d3o in bikeratti, sastec in ScorpionEXO pants)
The jeans looks like a regular jeans (almost)
Again, all these gears are high end and focused on comfort. D3o and Sastec armours scream comfort, try them to know them. They are light, super flexible. Can check video of D3o back protector on YouTube and be surprised. These gears are designed with ventilation in mind.
For links to buy, contact the brands by a simple Google search. Cheers !
If I were in your place, I would pick Bikeratti jeans, Shima Xmesh, R710 and get rolling.
Cheers !Last edited by MidnightEvil Parth; 05-08-2018, 01:36 PM.

Need a riding jacket
This will be my first riding jacket, should I go for aspida atlas or rynox gt?? I don't mind the thermal liner.. But the jacket should provide me good air while I ride and shouldn't be much heavy to wear!! Budget is 6000 so please do advice. I'm from Bangalore and ride 2017 200NS

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Rynox gt air is the better option. I own an aspida atlas. It's good only if it's dry outside. Rynox has better all climate protection. It will be useful especially during rains and winters.Originally posted by Anuj Agarwal View PostNeed a riding jacket

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Air GT is a better pick imo. Atlas has less of mesh and thus amounts to lower ventilation.Originally posted by Anuj Agarwal View PostNeed a riding jacket

Plus the Level 2 protectors in the Air GT make it an easy choice at the 6k price point.

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Has anyone here picked up the new Rynox Storm EVO L2 Jacket? Wondering if the mesh areas are enough for summer usage and any other pros & cons before going in for it.

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Can someone recommend me a pair of riding boots that are decently comfortable and daily wear-able?
The BBG Riding boots are over my budget.
This is the first time i am using riding boots, i was using Skechers till now and after my crash, never using sports shoes for riding again!
Here's the shoe after a crash
TIA!
