Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Wind noise in a helmet depends on a variety of factors from riding position to motorcycle windshield and so on.
I'd recommend you to try ear plugs instead.
Scorpion exo390 is good, also check HJC CL17

Check out the Rynox Air GT 3. I think the design is kick ass and you get Level 2 protection throughout ..Originally posted by Dinesh 7554 View PostHi bro,
For a 6k budget Rynox air gt v3 is a good bet. I didn't own one, I researched a lot about jackets under 10k. Surprisingly rynox provides level 2 armour jackets for 6.3k budget. Go with the reputed brands and perfect fit.
I have no idea about the pants.
Hope this helps.

It is really important for bikers to use leather motorcycle jackets - ZippiLeather when riding a motorcycle for drive or adventure, because it gives you full protection. Leather jackets are generally used to avoid injuries and accident or in simply for the safety purpose.

On an apples to apples basis, TBG are over priced for what they have to offer. Period. Look for better cheaper alternatives for the same spec which are available too.Originally posted by Dinesh 7554 View PostFriends any thoughts about TBG KNIGHT jacket?
Is that worth to buy 10k price tag?Ah! The age old question, to leather up or not to. Well, I'll keep it extremely, extremely simple as to why a leather is better than a textile for which simple Googling will yield you tons of results.Originally posted by chewydove View PostIt is really important for bikers to use leather motorcycle jackets - ZippiLeather when riding a motorcycle for drive or adventure, because it gives you full protection. My opine is, leather or textile doesn't matter. As long as it helps you walk out of a crash, unscathed, without broken hardware, it's done its job as it's supposed to.
Leather is harder and takes abrasion well whereas, textile rips up, but still takes a beating before it does so. So, in the end both do their intended job as they ought to, and lastly it also depends on the riders comfort and what he/she prefers on what occasion and condition.
Hope it helps.
Cheers!

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
Hey I've been following lot of advice and reviews on jackets and have gained lot of knowledge, mainly thanks to MidnightEvil Parth
So I'm about to purchase a jacket and pants and I'm left with the below
Jacket
1. Raida Tourbine
2. FK-R signature
3. Venom Asphalt level 2 (anyone knows what protectors are used?)
4. Mototech Scrambler Air
5. Royal Enfield Street wind ( a cheaper alternative for atleast year?)
All options are from Amazon as i have received some gift vouchers.
So i couldn't find any reviews for 'FK-R signature' jacket. From what i read online, it comes with Safetech level 2 protectors and sells for 8k in Amazon. Has anyone here used/tried it?
Please help me choose! TIALast edited by arunsekhar1; 02-05-2020, 11:24 AM.

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread
FKR jacket has same protectors as Rynox Air GT that costs slightly lesser. All Safetech.
Coming to your other options and the part about Amazon purchase. I am checking amazon right now and I should update you ASAP.
update below -
Please check Amazon for Rynox AIR GT and Raida Kavac. Both should be available there and are good jackets.

I haven't seen them in person but check out Aspida Venus or Solace Asmi for jackets. Go with the same logic of fitting, quality and level of protectors etc, though the no. of options in jackets will be lesser than for men.Originally posted by saorabbh View PostHello everyone,

Well, for us men you do have some luck with leather jackets, but for women, it's all needle in a haystack, plus the sizing can be another dilemma.Originally posted by saorabbh View PostHello everyone,

https://www.zeusmotorcyclegear.com/j...eather-jackets does provide jackets for men. Spartan used to have beautiful leather jackets, are now out of sight, and out of stock. Partial leather jackets sold by Cramster, the Eclipise that's an extremely good one. Women specific leather jacket with armors are a harder to find in India. I'd strongly recommend you purchase ones from abroad, primarily because you have wide range choices and price brackets to lean with.
Good luck.
Cheers!

Re: Universal : Riding Gear Thread

1250 kms review of ORAZO Picus Leather Riding boots, Rynox Air GT3 Riding Jacket and SMK Stellar helmet.
All three are great in quality control, design and purpose. Made proudly in India too. They're also no nonsense and fast moving items in offline stores.
SMK STELLAR seems to be the least expensive, ECE certified, pinlock 30(anti-fog lens) fitted proper full face helmet in India. Made by Studds, it has a cool AGV kinda look to it. Comes in two shell sizes for XS,S,M and L,XL,2XL. Gives a nice snug fit without any pressure points when correct size is picked.
The opening and closing of the visor and vents are sturdy and give a reassuring feel. No weak or loose jerks or sounds anywhere. It's a good upgrade from my Studds Shifter which was also surprisingly well made helmet for the price. With all vents open adequate airflow is there but kinda becomes noisy above 90kph. When vents are closed it has fairly decent wind noise isolation upto 110kph on a naked motorcycle like my Interceptor 650. Since I use my powered glasses while riding, the spectacles go inside smoothly without issues. Padding is also soft and does not cause any skin irritation anywhere.
The one feature I absolutely enjoy and feel should be standard in every full face helmet sold in India is this Pinlock 30 anti-fog lens fitted on the visor as standard. Previously at traffic stops/snarls and winter foggy early morning rides it was downright annoying(sometimes dangerous too) to see your visor getting fogged up while riding. No fogging at all even in a particularly Smoggy Sunday we had a month ago. Even if you wantedly blow lots of air into the visor while breathing it ever so slightly fogs at edges but instantly disappears. Optically correct and is surprisingly well made too. Planning to get a Chrome visor soon, just before the Chennai summer begins.
Rynox Air GT3 is my first encounter with the Rynox brand and their strong reputation shows in the overall build quality, fit and finish. Providing Safetech CE-level 2 armours for shoulder elbow and back except chest in this segment. The overall weight of the jacket is light for me and fits snug without any pressure points. I love the subtle grey/red colour profile used for this jacket.
It doesn't heat up as much as black colour jackets due to the grey profile when the sun is scorching over your head. Excellent ventilation from the mesh panels. I'm yet to test the internal thermal and rain liners. One size up is not needed. I picked the one for my size 46" chest and it fits correctly. They've also given a 1 year ₹50k worth of Bike insurance too, from a company called Toffee Insurance which got activated two weeks after online registration. The policy seems to cost ₹118 build into the MRP of the jacket.
Orazo Picus Velcro Boots are worth the hype indeed. I was previously using Unistar Boots which I got from Amazon. They were well made too for the price provided all day comfort while trekking or riding. The Orazo boots are leagues ahead and are the most comfortable boots I've ever bought.
I've been using them everyday since I bought them for office, while commuting and for weekend rides. They are a wonderful all round comfortable and safe boots. After the initial breaking in period of 3-5 days they're very comfortable. One size up is not needed and fits the size for correct foot measurement. Padding is great and gear shifting in city rides doesn't feel like a chore anymore. The steel toe gives that tank like protection during tight traffic snarls.
You get weird looks(only the first day) from your colleagues in office who are less safety conscious but these boots are true to their reputation from riding enthusiasts. Yes the price has slightly increased since the launch but it's worth it I believe. They've introduced a new tan color too but the subtle classic look of the black colour is timeless.
