              • I will be riding approx. 60 kms to and fro from office everyday. What would you suggest for protection. Just a helmet is sufficient or is it sensible to put on knee/elbow guards? Or would it seem overkill just for daily commute?

I have ridden friends bike but they are just around the blocks so does not know the full extend of its risks.

                Appreciate your input.

                • I ride the same amount of kms in a day with all gear(helmet, balaclava, jacket, golves) except for knee guards.
Though they are a neccessity I still get too tasked to wear & remove in the office

+1 to that. In the summers especially! I wear a helmet daily (sometimes half face also, depending on heat&if its too near). I wear the knee&elbow guards for shorter rides&the jacket etc. for longer rides.

                    • Thanks for the reply guys. Just wondering, cause I never see people wearing protective gears. Be it street or highway. Thought when people see me with those gears, they might be thinking I've lost my way on the race track .

                      • dont care for people who dont have clue about a responsible riding or protection.. this is what make us apart from being just a rider & a responsible rider..
i just got my jacket & it was my first dat to go office fully geared.. Protective Jacket, Gloves, Helmet.. People do look at you, but its you who are feeling more confident riding..
Its your life buddy.!! Value it.. Also it looks cool.. Lot of chicks giving a look..

                              • F.y.i.

Guys, Performance Racing Store now stocks SIDI footwear as well. Just went there today. Tried out the 15k Joe Rocket Speedmaster 2.0 Boot. Tried one size smaller on one leg. And 14,500 SIDI B-2 on the left in one size big.
Anywho, the JR felt so comfortable & safe(Well, it felt like as though ROBOCOP's right foot was transplanted onto my leg, minus the weight!), that 20minutes later I still felt like my right foot was in the JR! Awesome protection these boots have. Not to forget the Rockets look awesome in a 'Transformer' kinda way.

Yes ofcourse they are too pricey. But just wanted to see how it feels to be in a riding boot. :P

Meanwhile CrashBoomBang, Bandra has two pairs of chinese replicas of the very same SIDI B-2 I tried out. Selling for, believe it or not, 5.5K only!! Obviously the difference in quality was noticeable. But the chinese ones are an exact copy. Down to the toe-slider bolts even!
