Once upon a time, a guy asked a girl 'Will you marry me?'
      The girl said, 'NO!'

And the guy lived happily ever after and rode motorcycles and watched sport on a big screen TV, went fishing and surfing, and played golf a lot, and drank beer and scotch and had tons of money in the bank and left the toilet seat up and farted whenever he wanted.

      THE END

Particularly interested in this one, since saw pics on FB. But over a week from IBW and yet not on their website or any info on availability dates. Think this will be perfect for daily office commute for Gurgaon summers and not so cold winters(with the rain liner on).

Just by the looks of the ICARUS is just excellent. Yet to see it and wear it in person, just waiting for that opportunity. And not to mention, the ACHILLES, kick ass jacket, gets my 10/10 for visual appeal. Yet to see all these jackets. Darn now I need to wait wAIT WAIT!!

          Cheers!

Personal Perception, but at that price point i vote for DSG Nero which is actually even cheaper than Achilles and does also have option to put in chest protectors... now now I know ACHILLES comes with the 'KNOX' protectors..frankly speaking I dont really think KNOX is worth it, but may be I am not a literate in terms of Safety. I touch and feel the stuff and KNOX is really good, but nothing to go Ga Ga over.

            Cheers

I agree, but NERO is not all that worth the buck worth jacket, at least personally. It felt like a wearing a sheet of thick NYLON sheet over you with extra thicker nylon on arms. Also the quality is very very inferior to even the base SCOYCO. Period.

But when it comes to KNOX, the devil is in the details buddy, you're absolutely right, skin up, there is no perceivable difference, but skin deep there are tales to tell, microengineered components. If all people were to touch and feel how KNOX would be and then purchase a KNOX armor, or any armor... well...

That is the same reason motocross, superbike races etc have KNOX standard in common! Safety is prime! It's far better to save some skin than losing altogether!

              Cheers!

                  • To anyone owning a jacket with part leather and part mesh. How do you clean it? I mean ive worn my DSG Maze for a while now and i noticed the red in the front has turned a bit brownish with the dust that i face everyday. So i'm still wondering how i'm supposed to wash/clean the jacket. Im pretty sure water and leather dont make for a good combination! So any tips?

Actually leather has no problem with water. Remember the cow wore it and it was waterproof too! Moreover, the leather used in motorcycle jackets is normally treated to withstand rain abuse. It is in the drying and after care that you have to be careful. I've been using a part perforated leather, part mesh jacket for almost two years - one of the first prototypes of the Hyperion - and have gotten wet in rains many times. Have also washed my jacket at least a dozen times. The leather loses its essential oils in the washing and drying process and tends to become dull and stiff.

After washing, I have hung it up on a coat hangar to drip dry, taking care not to crease the leather in any way and also trying to maintain its natural fall. Also, drying only happens in the shade - never, ever in the sun. Since it is leather it takes a whole day to dry but it does and also becomes very stiff. To revitalise the leather, I use a leather cream which is a whitish cream available at Florsheim used for their premium shoes, which brings back the shine and suppleness after rubbing it into the leather with my fingers. Remember not to soak the jacket while washing and also not to use too much detergent as it would rob the leather of all its oils quicker. Also never use hot water. I don't know if your jacket can take this, so maybe you should enquire with the manufacturer before you try, but this has worked brilliantly for me and my jacket still looks almost new.

                        • I lost my Spartan Pegasus in Mysore on the way back from Munnar in the mall. Have to get a new pair now. Made up my mind for a full gauntlet now, will use my earlier Cramster MX3 for daily commutes.

My options are as below with my comments. Would appreciate if you guys could help me with your reviews on the same and the best pick of the lot considering price and the level of protection provided nexus.

                          1. Spartan Ares - Rs. 2950 - The costliest of them all.
                          2. Cramster TRG2 - Rs. 2300 - Cheapest of all. Have been hearing a lot about current quality issues.
                          3. DSG Primal - Rs. 2750 - Tried and tested, I believe.
                          4. DSG Vector - Rs. 2750 - Have not heard about this one from anyone yet.
                          5. Rynox Kombat - Rs. 2650 - A new entrant but the overall feel of it was nice.

                                +1 to that.

I have an Ares myself.. and I'd say rynox kombat looks tempting (especially in red-black)
It also has pinky protection (which is missing in Ares) and if I'm not mistaken a palm slider too.
