We can always get fake stuff for Rs.1500-I have a Rossi replica Yamaha jacket which I bought for Rs.1200(no armor)&cheap Rs.250 Knighthood gloves. Now it still fits the budget!
I bought them when I had no idea about protectors inside riding gear!

@coolboy007: Coming back to the point, almost all the jackets with CE approved armor are available starting from about 5K.
For city cum touring gloves, Rs.1500 is a decent budget. City gloves Rs.1000 should suffice.

I am using the DSG Moto Mesh (Rs.850) for daily use&Cramster Twist (Rs.1500) for touring.
Jacket is Cramster Breezer 1.0 Mesh, now discontinued-was available at Rs.4300.

Will keep both names in mind, these days am seeing a lot of CROSS helmets here and they look nice too. So 3k would be enough, great as i can save some good money for gloves which will protect me from chilling winter of Delhi while i go for coachings.
Do we need to buy LIDS separately for these helmets?

At the moment i dont have any plans for a armoured jacket with padding and all. Will i get those good gloves with knuckle protection and all for 1.5k? I will get those city cum touring gloves as you say.
Any link for the Moto Mesh jacket for 850? Even 1500 bucks for a good jacket isnt bad. Which is good out of both for pure city riding?

A helmet is referred to as a lid here by us. If you are thinking of some sort of cover, it will come alongwith the helmet itself.

I think I told you that you will get armored jackets for Rs.5000 onwards. If you don't have plan to invest in an armored jacket, any Nike/Reebok/other jacket is good enough for daily use in city, nothing specific about it. Later if you start touring you can go in for an armored one. You may even plan on buying knee/elbow guards etc.if you get into touring!
The Moto Mesh is a mesh glove by DSG, you can check it on the site mentioned above. This is better for hot climate city riding. It has knuckle protection.
Since Delhi gets cold, I suggest you leather gloves like Cramster MX3, for Rs.1100, or else ProBiker or any other-some people from Delhi can help you with what to buy. www.cramster.in/ridinggear.php/ the only downside is you can't wear leather stuff in rains.
I like Cramster riding gear a lot, I have bought a lot of stuff from them.

Oh silly me!!! Thanks for the link, in the photos it looks a bit cheapish. Will go for those black ones on planetdsg which cost around 2k or so.

I used wrong word. Should have used visor.
I understand that but do the helmets come with 2 visors? 1 transparent and 1 tinted? If not do the tinted ones cause problems at night? I use contact lens so visor down all times is mandatory for me. Whats the funda in this?

Thanks a lot. I am planning to go for leather ones only now after seeing other ones on dsg site. For jacket, normal jacket will suffice i think for now.
Hope to get a good stylish helmet on Sat - nice helmets in "helmets" thread.

They look good actually, but don't have anything to boast of except hard knuckle protection (not even carbon fibre). No palm padding also.
Check the Cramster site too-I think the MX3 perfectly suits your requirements. Full gauntlet gloves are preferred for touring&track usage-they might get too hot in city, though its a personal choice at the end of the day. I don't prefer full gauntlets even on touring.

Yes, you can get a tinted as well as plain visor. One will come with the lid&the other you need to buy separately. Yes, you are right-tinted visors are not recommended for night use. We all keep our visors down all the time, so ensure whichever lid you buy, the visor is scratch resistant. It makes a lot of difference when the oncoming light glare falls on your visor. If it is clean, you will be able to see your own eye reflection. If you can lay your hands on an anti-glare one, all the better for night riding!
Coming to internal visors, it is a sunglass sort of thing inside the main visor which can be used&then retracts with a small lever pull. The Vega Boolean has it&also the new Cross helmet which furioussphinx has bought. Search the thread for more pics&reviews. It is a good combo IMO-having a tinted sunglass inside for sunny time&a plain visor outside so you can push the sunglass back&have a clear visor at nighttime.

Yes, city riding any jacket will suffice-not that you don't need protection while riding in city, but its too cumbersome&sweaty to wear an armored jacket daily to work!
All the best in your helmet hunt!

Checked the site. MX3 and Twist both look interesting. Remebering these names now to enquire at shops. Will most probably get these gloves only, Alpinestar is damn expensive. DSG primal also looks sexy, nice gloves.

Yeah i browsed through the helmets thread and CROSS helmets are awesome. I too will be a Cross owner i think. Will specifically look out for a helmet like this which has a transparent visor in front and a sunshade below which is of utmost importance. Scratch resistant visors i think do come with these helmets. My current helmet has sratches on visor and i almost get blind when a car comes opposite with high beam.

Couple of my friends have bought DSG one.

Require removable linen for cold resistance and water proofing. And obviously adequate protection.

I have a red P150/ UG3, DSG riding gloves red.. helmet vega boolean graphics. red & black. Jacket would be red color i think.

Have already visited DSG and Cramster sites. kindly suggest a good one with model number as well..
I am confused between various models of Cramster and DSG. all seems to be similar

Since you need cold&rain protection, mesh jackets are out. Most of the textile ones have similar features. Just go for the one which looks the best&fits you best!
