Universal : Riding Gear Thread

Have used my Joe Rocket Super Street Boots for about a month now/800 odd kms. Thought I'd share my observations.

First the +'s -

- Really nice looking pair of street boots. Looks great with jeans. See the pics.

- VERY comfortable - the sizing is spot on, so you should have no problem matching your sneaker size with the boots - easy to order online.

- Very well made - high quality construction and materials. I was impressed with the list of features which are explained in the video below.

- The toe shift area has a separate layer like most other riding boots and shows absolutely no signs of wear.

- The dual compound sole is an eye-opener - you can feel the difference on the foot - pegs.

- Though I initially found the boots a little warm to wear, I soon got used to them and I think the air vents do help force air through the boots.


- The boots are prone to scuffing - and should not be used for trudging around in the brush. I managed to damage the bottom near the sole slightly by walking around off road a bit. You should be fine though in the city.

- The multiple creases, cuts and folds which add to the aesthetic appeal are a pain to clean!


All things considered, I'm very pleased with my purchase and I would definitely recommend a buy!

the boot part still confuses me. i wanted a boot all in one that i can ride and wear into the forest if need be. got the jacket and pants from cramster, rjays helmet and saddle bags are ordered with bachoo motors.

boot part still.. well what i have found that the riding boots are to be treated like riding boots. you cannot walk in them etc for long ( after a ride i mean ) even the toe pads are useless unless you are riding on the tracks or you are going to ride in city traffic daily.

so for me its going to be a good leather boots which i can trek and also ride. suggest one if you know any

He said that the consignment will come by the 2nd week of oct
and had asked me to deposit money into his bank account and after that he will despatch the the jacket to me.

But its a different story in this bloomin' weather. I have to leave the wrist area of the Nero (zip + velcro) open when I ride within the city so as to allow air to circulate through the jacket.

riding with open zip and velcro on the forearm is not at all recommended. the armour will get displaced the moment it touches the ground in case of a fall leaving the elbow completely exposed effectively negating the very purpose of using a riding jacket with armour.if its so much of a prob then its always advisable to invest in a good mesh jacket.

Don't want to sound like a pessimist, but how are you going to hike around with all your gear on? I mean if you are wearing your jacket and riding pants, you're pretty much not going to be able to trudge around in them - not for any great distance anyway.

But I guess that you have something in mind - so maybe you could share your thoughts?

the logic goes only for short/long tours. you cannot avoid your other gear i mean multi task them. but boots is one item that can be multi tasked. it allows me to pack in one item less(extra sneakers) on the saddle bag if going out for a full day/days. the boot BV suggested fits like a "T " and i will have to plan how to get one. i want my stuff to be practical /useful then last is show piece in that order. i ordered saddle bags from Rjays as i could not locate any that could be fitted on n250. then yesterday i went again on BV's breakin ride and found that he was using the same.

i am sort of spread a little. i have to balance between aeromodelling - phography- music ,amp,speakers etc and biking/ 2011 i hope to go for a full nikon DSLR equipment as i was using nikon manual SLR before and substituted by a fuji prosumer camera for the last 4 years.

After few days of waiting i got my much awaited Speed and Strength Twist of Fate Textile riding jacket....
It has C.E approved removable elbow , shoulder and back protectors... has 6 vents ... armours feels sturdy ... fit and finish is top notch... stiching is amazing. quality is superb.
i am 5'11 and i weigh 72kgs size L fits me perfectly.

Hey Buuddy.. Sorry for the delay in asking this. Me too like to buy this jacket., Just want to know about the size.. What about the fit... is it snug fit for you? Are the protectors in corrrect position? what's your chest size if you are using L? just to make sure of the size for me. Anyway good choice bro..
