  • I am looking for a jacket, gloves and shoes to wear for my regular cruiser rides. I am not sure where to get started, so decided to ask you folks I am from Mumbai so would really prefer very good ventilated ones to ensure I don't drown from sweating!

Not into racing, high speed stuff. Just a regular jacket that can take a beating in case something goes awry. Same for the shoes. I guess the Alpinestars are well rated/regarded.

My budget is 10-15K for the jacket and 5-10K for the shoes. 5k for the gloves. What would you guys recommend? Also if I have to check out stores in Mumbai, where are these stores and what do they stock?

      • I need boots, what is recommended?

Budget is max 7k give or take a few hundred, the main aspects I require are good protection and comfort while riding, especially for my right foot which is always up on the peg and has nothing to do, it goes numb quite often. Not bothered about walking around in them as I can easily carry a pair of flip flops in my back pack.

        What i've looked at,

        1) Oraza, good price but the Charlie Chaplin look does not appeal
        2) Rjays, good selection to choose from, but heard no feed back, inbuilt waterproof liners scare me, in the humid tropics, breathable materials aren't what they claim to be.
        3) AXO from DSG these are top of my list, but how good are they?
        4) Joe rocket from PRS, seem a little over price for what they are, need some feedback
        5) Order from the US via ICCworld, huge choice, though with shipping and duties will probably exceed my budget.

        Any advice appreciated, please advise.

Also looking for a good pair of leather full gauntlet gloves, DSG seems to have some good gloves but which one? not interested in waterproof. There are a few from Rjays as well, but no feedback.
Beware of Bread, don't say I didn't warn you!
More than 98 percent of convicted criminals are bread eaters !
Statistics show that more than 75 % of violent crimes are committed within 24 hours of eating bread !
Bread is known to be extremely addictive. Subjects deprived of bread and given only water, actually begged for bread after just two days !
Bread has been proven to kill. Scientists have now uncovered alarming evidence that 100% of the people who eat bread will eventually die !

You can have a look at Tourmaster Response 2.0. I plan to buy these too.
          Tourmaster Response 2.0 Boots - RidersDiscount.com

At $89.00 + shipping ($45 IMO) + duty it should be just in your budget.

Apart from this, i will say AXO Primato II from DSG which you have already shortlisted look good and are proven. However, they are strictly for riding.

Boots - You can go for Axo Primato II
Gloves - Go for Axo Pro Race gloves or DSG Primal/DSG Vector

              • Any Joe Rocket Owners or knowledgeable guys please give me a review on Big Bang Jacket. PRS offer it for 10k. Is it worth the money and how is the Jacket in overall quality and reliability levels?

Instead why don't you consider Pheonix or UFO. Both are mesh jackets. You'll get cooked in the Big Bang I feel!

                  • Sidi Vertigo boots are home

Went for a short spin to test last night. They are extremely comfortable and confidence inspiring. Highly recommended for the quality and fit. Cost including shipping and duties turned out to be slightly less than 15K

                    A pic off the net

I have used RJays Edge & Highway both. Edge offers better protection than Highway. But Highway is more comfortable to walk with.

I already have a Cramster Pulse and having used a textile jacket for long I prefer it to mesh jackets. Also with proper ventilation I don't think that would be a problem. Now need a proper brand and a good textile jacket. That's why asked about this particular Jacket.

                            • Hello Guys,

Need some suggestions on buying a jacket.

                              My requirements are :

                              1. Mesh Jacket
                              2. Water Resistant/Liner would also do
                              3. Budget is 6k

I shortlisted the DSG Maze and the RJays Swift.

Would appreciate your advice on which one would be better. Any other suggestions are also welcome.
                              Thanks in advance!!!
