  • Pulsar 220s or something else?? Please Help

    Hi Everyone!
This is my first post ever since i joined xBhp.
I'm new here so plz help me guys.

I've decided to buy a new bike for myself. I have a budget of rs. 1lakh(unextentable).
Performance being the prime concern. i need a bike with decent handling and decent mileage(35-40).
I was about to buy the pulsar 220s. but after reading about the problems being faced by fellow xBhpians who own pulsar 220 my mind got deviated.I've also heard that the quality of parts of the pulsars have also depriciated. is it true?I know that the 220 is a very powerful bike, but is it worth the problems that it gives?
I have a soft corner for the pulsar as my brother had a p150 and i learnt riding on it. pleased don't suggest the karizmas. r15 is a great bike but i don't like it's low-end power delivery.
The other option that i have is to wait for a new bike to be released.
I can wait for another 6 months. is there any 200cc+ bike that is going to be launched in the near future that will fit in my budget?

looking forward to your replies and suggestions

      You dont want Karizma
      R15 ruled out.
      220 = quality issues.

Go buy an apache 180 and give the rest of the money to charity.

      Or go for avenger 220

        ROFL !!! Classic reply.

No offence but you have struck out almost everything from the list of available bikes in your search.

Seriously speaking why not the Karizma? Its a nice bike with exceptional touring capabilities.

            Lolz!!

RTR 180 would be the only other bike which comes close to the P220 if you are looking for sheer involvement/riding pleasure.

i think you should go for 220 S.. i think not every bike will be having manufacturing defects from bajaj...

ZMA is a bike you can go buy your eye closed.

You have pretty much limited your choice to nothing . With a ceiling of 1 lakh, waiting may not guarantee a 200cc+ within your budget. So best bet is to just get the P220s and enjoy it for the next 2, 3 years. A lot of things may change by then.

Dude will give you a free advice you are wasting six months of riding pleasure in your life, time wont revert back bhai as said by rahul here go for a used RE(preferably Electra) and sell it to buy your bike that lures you .Other option try if you can loan in and buy a ninja ;Wait wait if you are ok with the maintenance problem go for RE 500 have my word dont try match bhp vs CC calculations its stupid to think that way its one very nice bike with greater torque it will never let you down what friend thinking whats this stupid what if i buy electra according to one of his choice here is the answer read ownership experiences of electra owners in xbhp the bike is trouble free bhai whatever you buy do inform in this thread .Finally i'd like to add this point too, every machine is a wonder of its own kind go for what your heart tells best wishes Ride safe

I like the p220s i just want to know that is it really that problematic that i should refrain from buying it. i would be delighted if a p220s owner would throw some light on the matter.

I don't know what issue are you talking about, can you please elaborate?

I know more than 100+ people here riding pulsar, including me. If maintained properly, and after doing proper running-in, no big problems here. One or two bikes may be faulty, but never all of them.

abhis3k has just mentioned more than 100 pulsar owners are here!! i'm also one of them.. so you can expect number of people replying you with what reliability issues?? if you maintain well, it will last long and so on.. nevertheless, if your heart is on P220S, just go with it. I would say, it's a fine bike, if not an outstanding one.

Actually there are many more in xbhp. I mean in my locality, many of them are my friends. But I agree, there isn't many issues in a proper maintained bike, whatever make and build it is.
