Why are you bothered about these small things like headlights.. its not a big job to do a coil rewinding (or whatever its called) and put in a 100/90 bulb ; provided your pulsar model even needs the coil rewinding..
Buy any bike you like.. all are competent and don't listen to excessive reviews; it will only make you confused.
SVc.. yeah problem there... find some good mechanic, use xbhp to id some good mech in your area. In this day and age you can find a solution to anything easily.
Buy a P220s for the most affordable power and its quite reliable too provided you take care of it. Cheers!

i've heard about some steering feedback problems. my concern is also the longetivity of the bike.Originally posted by vishnups17 View Postok please elaborate the problem,i regular visit in the p220ownership thread may be u are saying some cone set issue with the new lot!!Btw i own P220 for 4 months and i faced a niggle with airfilter sensor, thats all

Bro i had used my p150 dtsi for long 6 years,it hadnt given me any major troubles and maintenance was damn cheap, this lead me to take the p220Originally posted by Anish71 View Posti've heard about some steering feedback problems. my concern is also the longetivity of the bike.
But p220 requires more maintenance than other pulsar siblingsA LOST RACE IS ALWAYS BETTER THAN A LOST LIMB

Hey,
I too own a pulsar. Just today I got bigger size jets for my baby and got the air filter fixed in the most optimum manner, iv also got plugs, wires ..on the whole I feel I'm riding a 250 not a 220 anymore, i can feel the extra power in every gear, pickup is really good. No maintanence problems.. except i'v to start it a few times during morning.. i think anish you can go for the new 220 model which looks like 200, you will have looks as well as power.Because no karizma or r15 can play with a 220, atleast not that easily.

Dude did you forgot that P150(ug4.5)& P180(ug4) comes with full DC!. Not sure about P135ls.Originally posted by satan69in View Postoh damn...did you say 220 "S" i thought F...its 35 W but its fully DC...so it is ideally better than p150 or 180 as their electricals are ACFailure should never go to heart & success should never go to head, both makes a person to fall in life-Winston Churchill

And how much has your FE depriciated??
Perhaps i would be needing it in the future.

Maintain properly, it will long last enough. I hope you are not planning to ride it 15-20years. Proper care will make the bike last at least 5-7 years.Originally posted by Anish71 View Posti've heard about some steering feedback problems. my concern is also the longetivity of the bike.

I have no clue but the mech said it's 10% bigger, maybe like 5-10 mm bigger. i didn't have any jerking or any other problems so didn't check with another jet. Well since there's more flow of fuel, so a dip in fe can be expected although I'm pretty sure that if one drives sanely most of the time the fe drop will be hardly noticeable. but on constant mad ripping( get an rtr ) perhaps 3-5kpl might drop. costs for these parts are dirt cheap .. Now I'm waiting to come across some aftermarket sprockets for my bike as I want to make my gearing taller and increase top end speed and there's nothing that seems to fit this babe

Once when I was touring through parts of tamil nadu and headed for kerala for my friends wedding a tamilnadu cop waved me down, being a law abiding citizen I pulled over and switched off my bike...
I was fumbling around with my papers when he said " No No I know you will have all the documents I just wanted to tell you that my son has this same bike.. and the handle came off.
I was trying hard not to laugh but he was quite serious and he continued saying how he almost fell off the bike when the handle came off.
He asked me to be careful about the handle and after advising me for another 10 mins and asking about its cost in my city he told me I can go.

ps: I've had no problems with the handle or any other part of the bike so far.sigpic

are you sure ??Originally posted by ACE_HUNTER View PostDude did you forgot that P150(ug4.5)& P180(ug4) comes with full DC!. Not sure about P135ls.
1)kms completed 20k (not doing any riding presently cause am healing from an accident)Originally posted by Anish71 View Postsatan69in i would be very thankful to you if you could share your personal experience with the bike. pros cons etc. etc.
2)parts changed under warranty:
left side switch set up (those backlights went kaput)
air filter sensor
headlight (cracks cause of high beam)
fuel sensor(please ensure that you tell the petrol guy to keep the pipe on the opposite side of the sensor..the force of the petrol falling on the sensor is making it go defunct
3)parts changed under general usage:
rear tyre at 17k kms (bought same stock zappers)
chain sprocket at 15k kms
rear brake pads every 5000kms
lost key so had changed keyset
rear brake and clutch springs gone two times till date
front brake switch
some rubber thing got thin due to constant ripping above 120kmph for 600kms,so oil came up to airfilter as a result.
my coneset is still strong.did not replace it yet
rear drum rubber and chain link every 10k kms
airfilter replacement every 10k kms
4)Replacements:
motul fully synthetic from 5k kms onwards
ngk spark plugs
hid low beam
dual root horns combined with stock horns with a 3 way switch
going to install a cell phone charger soon
mileage of 52kmpl during starting so had AFR tuned a little richer .now getting 40 to 45kmph in city and 35 constant above 100+ speeds
the above is my summary of 20k kms...but the fun i had with my bike shadows the amount of time i spent at pbk.
Negatives:
1)very scary to corner some sometimes.
2)loss of power seen after 300 to 400kms continous riding (top end came down from 143 to 130 kmph and no external factors)
3)dont know which part will go down the drain at any moment
4)definitely not as flickable as r15 mind you
5)mileage variation is large
6)rvms are useless for some but for me its ok cause i just need a glance of it when am braking or nearing a stop
7)fairing vibes:applied dual tape everywhere so minimized.live with it
8)rear brake light swich which is near the rear brake lever goes off some some times due to sudden jolts on roads or due to moisture..that is the reason we see a dim led lighting though brakes are not pressed
9)rear seat a bane for long drives
Positives:
1)good top end
2)good mileage (if AFR is taken care off and ridden sanely)
3)awesome lighting
4)cheap spares(i mean it) but costly labour
5)rims are damn strong
6)no shaking at high speeds...very stable
one thing dude...if you dont mind spending a little more time in pbk, then you can go for this...i always say this phrase, " 220 is like a nautanki girl which should be tamed through time"
EDIT: regarding teh handle coming off part...dont worry its only there for some specific batch and if your 220 falls in it,pbk is replacing the nuts and bolts under warrantyLast edited by satan69in; 08-18-2010, 11:36 PM.I RuLe Da HeAvEn, I RuLe Da heLL,I RuLe Da UnIvErSe, As HuMaNiTy FeLL
