but i am concerned that it would give me back aches or not..
test drive was short so couldn't decide...
    help me out guyz...
Here’s mind set after getting R15…
I got a track machine and will sit on it like GP racer …………… and ride in city streets @ 40 Kmph..
Well that’s the problem…people riding R15 initially tend to take sporty position every time they ride and in every scenario.. (me included) which results in wrist and back pain…
To avoid this you need to take more upright position and shift body weight to your bums and lower body rather than on wrist @ low speeds. On R15 rider need to make little changes to riding posture until comfortable position is achieved… (lets face it… all bodies are different and will require different sitting postures )
Well how can I say that? Cause I own one and have ridden it for 20K kms… I did suffered wrist pain initially for around 300 kms till it adjusted my riding posture….
On higher speed rider can take crouched position… and with some time on R15 u will learn to do that without stressing your muscles…
Having said that R15 is no bullet in touring comfort department …(has anybody suggest bull for your need?)
On other hand thoughts on the repair costs of bikes…
if you buy machine costing 1lac do you expect parts in there are of same cost and quality as 50K bike?

Most motorcycle problems are caused by the nut that connects the handlebars to the saddle

i dont believe that is possible but no one has taken gps with them so are not sure of the actual top speed....
can you guys please tell me whats the real top speed of r15 and the zmr?

part of fairing & fairing are two different things..talking about parts of fairing then even ZMR's fairing costs identically..

Top speed of both the bikes is in higher 120's. Company claims 126 for ZMR (and its true top speed unlike p220's claimed figure). R15's is more, may be 2-3 kms.

But how both the bikes will get to their top speed? that's whole different story.
Only a biker knows why a dog sticks his head out of a car window.

are you referring to power distribution over different rpms in both bikes?

I think with regards to sitting position of R15 there are lot of mislead info as in our pune XBHP group there are people who are 5.10 and 6 feet who are using R15 without any problems, yes initially for 15 days you face issues but once the running period is over you get adjusted to it, if you are gonna say like this about the R15 then tomorrow you will hear that the R1 or fireblade is also not suited for tall people. I am myself 5.10 i felt the R15 is as comfortable as its other competitors it all depends on your riding positions thats it.

@ thread starter you should take a test ride and go with one you like.

ZMR would definitely suit your needs.. it is really a good bike, however please do check on spares with the svc guys in your locality.. as they have often troubled a lot of customers with a long waiting period.

                        R15-
                        Attained on Speedo: 150kmph
                        Actual: Between 135-140kmph

                        ZMR-
                        Speedo Indicated: 127kmph
                        Actual : Approx 125kmph

ZMR is not my personal experience...!

However, top speeds SHOULD NOT be your selection criteria...!!!

but top speed will give me a idea about possible cruising speeds on highways as i love long tours so thats an important factor...

You are grossly mistaken.....Top speed has not much to do with relaxed crusing speeds for any made-in-India bike.....
Anyways, without much gyan I would suggest you to test ride all your shortlisted bikes and benchmark them based on your priorities/comfort levels...

Whatever comments you would read here would more or less be biased towards some or the other manufacturer.......!

I've already test ridden the r15 and learned that its a fun bike but the riding stance is a bit awkward for a 6ft tall guy...
and i'll test ride a ZMR this week(as soon as the showroom gets one). But based on the internet gyan i've learned its kinda like a "no fun touring bike" thats all business and does not provide a fun ride....
but i want a bike which is fun and can give me awesome touring experience as well
