  • Need Help ... Suzuki GS150 or Yamaha SZ R

    Hi All,,

I am planning to take a 150CC bike and am really confused among Suzuki GS150 & Yamaha SZr. I dont want to go for Unicorn or Pulsar 150 since they are very much common in the streets.

I did test drive for both bikes and found

GS150 -> the Gear box was not that smooth. Had to give a little hard push to put the gears . ( Dont know if it was a problem of that particular bike or is it same for all GS150's ?? ) Everything else was great and am tall enough (more than 6 feet) to handle this bike.

SZr -> Gears and performance of bike is ok. But Brake was not dat much good and also it have only Odo meter and not Trip meter.

Am living in Bangalore and i have to travel around 20 kms daily. please help me on this.

I am favouring GS150 but need to know if the gears are like that for all GS150's + the avg mileage it can give in the city traffics.

    • Go for Suzuki Gs...it will offer better comfort & Equipment then SZ...not to forget 6th gear which you can show off to your friends..

GS150r is currently the best 150 cc bike with good average and features!! Gears would be smooth later along, or changing the engine oil.

SZr is excellent in the price range it comes!! For brakes, i guess that bike din't had good tight brakes. SZr is good with braking too, apart from top end.

it's average is little less then GS150r.

As you are a tall person so GS150r is good, but check the SVC first, becuase heard that you won't gets parts in market apart from SVC

But what about the hardness of gears ..?? Thats the main thing am doubted about... If it is hard as the one i test driven, I dont think it will be easy to shift up and shift down through the cities..( considering the 6th also..)

GS150 owners may be able to tell how their gear shifting is ..... plz...

I am having height 5'11' using GS from last 2 years and almost 18K on odo. Usually gears are smooth in GS.
Either your TD bike has old dead engine oil or some other problem with gears. If you still have doubts then try TD in other showroom.

Before purchasing GS, I am also in dilemma b/w GS and SZ-X, but finally selected GS due to Quality of bike, more mileage and finally 6th gear .
